First day I got it.

And somewhat current look.

Some backstory first.

It's a 1984 242 DL with roughly 200K miles.

Picked it up summer of 2014 from a Turbobricker in Indiana. Pretty much rust free, Arizona car with faded paint job. It wasn't running at that time. Turns out it needed a new fuel pump.

$1100 later it was mine!

I just dumped all the pictures, tried to get them in order as much as I could.

The build was done in summer of 2015. Not by choice, more by an electrical failure of some sort. One day on my way to work the car would just leave me stranded, and wouldn't start. I've never figured out what it was or why it happened. I blame it most likely on a fried ECU.

Upgrades include:

K24 from a 2006 S60R
Ebay intercooler
TLAO Chips
Cadillac Brakes
RSI Stage 2 Turbo Cam
Bosch Green Injectors
3" Downpipe with a full 3" catback,
Koni Race struts all around with adjustables perches,
TrueTrac diff

and some other stuff I'm probably missing.

It was dynoed mid October at a local event.

They messed up the torque cause they couldn't pick up the RPMs but it made 282 torque.

Initially I wanted to do a 5 cylinder swap, but convinced by some local members I decided to +T the good ol' B23F.

Happy to have discovered that this car is being enjoyed. I test drove the car back when it was for sale in Indiana, but just couldn't pull the trigger. Thanks for showing me that I should've!

That single stage paint sure shined up wonderfully!

I've got the twin to your car.... 84 242 and I think the same color as well. My paint won't be saved as the car baked in the SE for years and has primer showing on the roof. My 84 says it was built in Belgium.... yours as well?

I've got a B5244T5 on the dolly downstairs in the Underground Swedish Garage.... and a whiteblock M90 as well! I don't plan to keep that color on my car, but yours cleaned up well and looks fine. I'll be following your progress.... and welcome to TB.
