Hello,
My name is Dug Strickler, I am the owner of the Twin Turbo V8 LS1 powered Volvo Wagon nicknamed ?the Volvette.? The car was given to me in stock form when my Dad passed away nearly 10 years ago. He was a major Volvo enthusiest so it didn't take long before I got the brick bug and started building it. Since then this car has transformed into the Volvette. It has become known worldwide in a little over a year since its completion.

In the 2008 season alone, the car has been in over 30 car shows. These include the famous Carlisle Fairgrounds in which the car was specially invited as a featured attraction in 2007 & 2008. The Volvette has also made appearances in numerous motorcycle stunt shows, charity events and multiple dragways throughout Pennsylvania and surrounding states. Future plans include attending the Gumball Challenge someday and possibly the SEMA show in Las Vegas. I currently have a full turbo sponsor called Blouch Turbo, a full paint sponsor,Wise Guy Customs and tuning sponsor called Carolina Auto Masters. Other flow sponsors include Kaplhenke Racing, Lunati, Alky Control and Legacy Inovations.

▪ The Volvette (as seen in The Anti Team's '08 DVD) has been touring the east coast and has made appearances to over a 30 shows this year alone and one the title of "Best Engine Set-up".
▪ It has already been published in "Rolling" and "0-60" Magazine since the car was completed last year.
▪ It will be also featured its third magazine called "S3" Magazine and will also appear in a book on LS1 swaps.
▪ Each Volvette YouTube video has seen tens of thousands of hits from all over the world each time a new video is posted, the exposure has been phenomenal.
▪ This resulted in footage of the Volvette being rated as the #9 most watched video in the automotive section of YouTube for the month of April 2008, as well as featured articles on many top-name car websites.

Please check out the Volvette by visiting my website at www.TheAntiTeam.com. You will find many pictures, write-ups and videos there. In addition, a quick google search of ?Volvette? will yield thousands of results.

Here is the rundown on parts.

IPD Lowering Springs & Swaybars

The car put down 544 rwhp & 567 rwtq on its stock long block in 08'! The car also gets 28mpg on the highway. It's been proven to be reliable because time and time again as I have driven this car all over the East Coast this year alone and plan on driving it to the West Coast in the near future.

With this upcoming build the Volvette could very easily be the first Volvo Wagon to hit 200mph!
This car is unlike any other car ever built and will continue to break records as a daily driven, street trim and full interior, Super Wagon show car.

For 2009... I?m planning to make it bigger, better, faster and badder than ever by adding a cage, full paint Job, motor build, new turbos and meth injection. The goal is to rock a 800rwhp street car on pump gas(with the help of meth spray only under high boost).

Please sit back and watch this car transform in the next few months from awesome to totally bada$$. I will try to update the thread every week or two untill completion.

Thanks,
Dug Strickler

01/12/09: Motor is out and cage is half done.

Love this car! So glad you are a part of this community!
Me too! T-Brickers are sooo much nicer than some of the other car clubs.

how many of them say "yeh but its not a volvo anymore!" or something similar?

I think the car as a whole is awesome, but it does nothing to make volvo's in general less lame because nothing in the drivetrain is volvo anymore.

I can't wait to see it back on the road, and DEFINITELY look forward to riding in it one day:-D

Looks sweet as Doug! When are ya gunna lease this beast out to the porno industry?? I wanna see a group of lezbos doin the deed in the back!

badass build man! I assume you are going with billet mains and studs right? How big are you going with the motor? Why not go with a iron block?

Yes but it's still a Volvo... just with a motor swap that has more potential than most Volvo Motors. Thats what makes it different and that's the main reason I have sponsors. You cant argue that fact. Also, what's great about the 200 and 700 series is that you can put in almost ANY motor in them without Cutting, Welding or Tunneling. Leaving the car with lots of options to play with! I also LUV the fact that I am driving a very practical, 5 seater car that can whip up on most super cars. VOLVOS FOR LIFE NICCA! Even if there not "Volvo" powered.
