I have a super gently used Yoshi T5 clutch disc that works with stock flat flywheel and PP I?d sell or trade if you?re interested. Shoot me PM and I will get you a picture.

No. MKIII's had solid color interiors. Most all were color matched with the dash and carpet. So if you had a burgundy interior, everything would be burgundy. Floors, dash, door cards, center console, etc. Mine was luckily beige.

^ They've pretty obviously been recovered, but look fantastic.

T5 clutch disc from Uncleknucklez should be getting here today, and I'm doing the head gasket and V15 tomorrow. Should make for a fun car...

This will be the last weekend with any real progress for a while, since I'm having some minor surgery next Friday and I've been told not to work on the car, in no uncertain terms, for a couple of months. So, until that point... Rest, recover and order boxes of parts to go in, upon recovery.

Heh. It's just a minor thing, nothing major...

And, speaking of upgrades, thebornotaku and I did the headgasket, and the cam is in.

I might need to advance the timing a degree or two, because it's currently making power up a bit over 7k, timed straight-up... But, on the other hand, it's incredible fun. I'm not 100% it's a V15 anymore...

I run the enem V15 at 6 degrees advance. The cam will make power well over 7k even though it's rated powerband is 2k to 6k rpms if it is a V15. Maybe it's a V16? The powerband on them is 500rpm higher.

I advanced it to 2 degrees this morning, gave it a little more fuel because I was hearing a lean backfire on decel, and that did the trick. It feels a lot like an old single-cam Honda now, with solid power from about 2500 through 6500. I'm happy.

So, because I've been under doctors' orders not to drive while taking painkillers after surgery, I decided I'd knock out something that has been bothering me for a while...

A few coats of Krylon Fusion Pepper Red later, I ended up with proper GT trim.

Hey Kayla - ripping the head off would have been a fantastic opportunity to ditch KJet and move to a more modern EFI installation w/ Megasquirt. Eventually you're going to find (like the rest of us) that the wiring harness takes a dump, Kjet parts are impossible to find, and so on. KJet is nice when it works, but MS and no distributor is even nicer.

I went that route on my '81 B21 244, and have no regrets. Gather yourself some EFI parts while parts cars are still out there... Buy Microsquirt, and let it rip.

80 was the last year of the decent wiring, fortunately.

I'm gathering pieces for EFI, though. I just want to do more than just an EFI conversion when I do.

Things are starting to ramp up on the 242 front again... Two surgeries last year, a move to Missouri and two rounds of dating and breakup took me out of the game for a little while, but things are coming back into line.

The good: I haven't forgotten about the 242, at all. Progress is starting to be made on lightening it and adding power. A B23 and two K-Jet heads are coming home with me next weekend, and I'm starting to passively look for a 16V head to build.

The bad: When it was delivered in February, there were six inches of snow on the ground and 225-wide R1Rs don't grip snow very well... Not-well enough that I drifted it into the side of the storage unit it's being kept in. This is providing ample excuse to make the widebody 242 of my dreams, in theory. More to follow.

The ugly: Removing the foam and tar from a 240 sucks. Also, no pictures because I'm lazy and want to wait until I'm done with tar removal and Lexan cutting.

2019 was a minor year for the 242, but the gauges are now lit, and it now has better forward-facing lighting.

2020 may see more progress, once I finish the Overlandmaster project.
