How the heck is it supposed to go in there? Didn't you convert this car to manual? I want to say I recall there being different years of bellhousings and I bet those parts too, maybe it needs something from a later car?
 
Thx. I lay awake thinking deep thoughts. Such as: If we are supposed to have 4 bar of pressure, why is there a 3 bar gauge? And: What is John’s chicken fetish all about?

Early 240 Turbos came with them.

After the cold start and once the oil's warm you'll get good readings with the 3 bar.

Re: chickens... Only poultry dig 2/7/9 series cars for the most part.

Re: oil pressure gauge senders. The gauges are the same except for their faces. The senders are different, resistance-wise. Correct sender for 5 bar gauge is the VDO 360-009. Same as the Volvo sender, but in a VDO package, so costs $40-$60 new. The poster who is getting below 1 bar oil pressure at idle may be running a 3 bar gauge with a 5 bar sender.
 
Picked up the "correct" length bolts for the turbo drain tube. In stainless. :nod:

NAPA called to say that the gasket has arrived. But during my two subsequent visits have been unable to actually find said gasket. Sigh.

Sourcing a "peg" style clutch fork.

Picked up some rubber bushings to quell the constant squeak of the poly in the torque arms.

Dog is thrilled by the rapid progress...

Yeah, I used to have a wider set. I liked the look and the grip, but it was a?two hand on the wheel? proposition. Swapping worn out suspension bushings was a big help too.

If I put a sheet of paper over the oil fill on the valve cover and vacuum draws it down, that indicates that my crank ventilation is working?

It tells you that it's working a certain amount. Fully working, and partially working kinda look the same.
