Starting this thread early to get some hype going. IPD was a small disappointment this year, and Davis did not even happen, so we have ground to catch up on.

I'll be updating details from Gsellstr as they come.

I also plan on driving down there from Portland, so stay tuned for a logistical plan.

A friend and I were thinking about doing a show in Central California. We don't have enough big shows. 2 a year really (IPD and Davis) and they are always on the same weekend.

I'll be down.. Also there's some really nice drives around here too. The vw air-cooled people have a big show here

I think I may be able to make it if I play my cards right. Whereabouts in central California are you thinking, Pat?

Well guys, yes, you got a sneak peek of the dates, but a formal announcement will be made by the club PR person within a couple months, so please hold the chatter on when until that has been made. Suffice to say for now though, it will happen, it will be great.

Also we are contemplating a fall meet, still in the initial planning stages to see if we can pull it off. If one of you guys wanna do something, please let me know and I will let those that need to know about it know so we can help draw people to it. The lack of meets is not a new issue, was just recently brought up again, and a fall meet was indeed agreed upon as a much needed event!

I will ask this though. Since we are in the beginning stages of Davis 2017, which would you prefer? Autox or an event like last year?

Keep this in mind as well. Autox is tailored for the performance guys, has an early start time, a mandatory cost, and requires you to be there all day, plus more volunteers needed and club planning/expense initially.
The event like last year had something for the early risers (cars and coffee at niello), a drive with routes for the stock leisurely crew and the fast crew, lunch to recoupe, go-karts for those that wanted to (after the hangover went away), and a bbq in the evening. Only cost was fuel, lunch, and go-karts, plus people can join whenever they want, for whatever stage.
Or if we have someone willing to help, we could do a poker run, or whatever other event.

This is an event for the masses, many of you represent the masses, but not all of them, so please keep that in mind. Suggestions are very welcome!
