Interest in BC coilovers

So I love BC coilovers and their American headquarters are local to me, and I know some of the guys there. Since the 760 I'm getting has some burnt out Nivomats, I was looking for an alternative, and thought it'd be nice to get BC to make a new application.

The reply so far has been that they haven't seen any interest in an application for the chassis, and wouldn't be interested in making a set without a "large" demand.

So I figured I'd come here first and see if there was possibly such interest.

Their basic set generally goes for 899-1000 depending on application, so that would be my rough estimate for this kit, but who knows what they could do on an introductory group buy.

If interest is gained, and I can get them involved, they'd be able to use my car for the first set.

Thanks guys, hope there is some mutual interest on this.

They were a cheap start up, but have grown exponentially. If you pay attention to Formula Drift, Conrad Grunewald, Chelsea Denofa, Jeremy Lowe, and several other drivers are running their coils. I know a lot of local drifters and Auto-Xers/Road Racers on them as well.

Here's their blog, with lots of coverage of them.

You didn't read the rules for this site I guess...

No talking about Drifting, yes we know it exists, we just don't discuss it

hahahahaha :)

I don't follow anything drift related..so that might explain not hearing about them...Are they Asian made or European or??

If it were around $800 for the whole set (front and rear) I could justify spending that.

Get a SOLID price from them and info and I might throw my hat in the ring. I'm also in Birmingham, AL...not TOO far from you either.

uh huh, that's over $800 for just the rear. I'm not looking for "race suspension". I just want a simple way to slightly lower my 760 with IRS and not cut the stock springs (ghetto as fvck).

just because "racing" is the in the company name doesn't mean you cant drive it on the street.

800 front and rear pricing will get you a set of import (crappy quality) coilovers for a popular car.

The only way you can get that price on a volvo if is you do it yourself and you value your time being worth nothing.

I'm gunna go out on a limb here and say I seriously doubt, even with how big TB is, that you'll get enough "serious" interest in these for BC to classify it as a "large" demand and justify designing sets for Volvos.

You've got Ben K making his awesome-sauce coilovers, RSI making theirs also, and DIY solutions. The people that want coilovers on their volvos probably already have them.

I appreciate the feedback from everyone, just remember that this was only to gauge interest. I'm familiar with the kaplhenke coilovers, and most likely will end up with the fronts and IRS rears, but I tend to look into every option I can before committing. BC being local, and known to me, I decided to investigate that route.

Never heard of them....

decent prices if the quality is there....

Bc Racing North America imports products from Taiwan Bor-chuann Enterprise Co., L in Kaohsiung via Los Angeles, California. Container #TGHU7022251

And that leads you to:

Conclusion: in all likelihood, the stuff is the same cheesy stuff as any other allegedly Tiawanese stuff, much of which is farmed out the small shops in China..

Thus......meh.

Ask him about the valving #'s

:oogle:

They're used a lot by VW owners, they provide a decent item at a convenient price (and make pricing options seem clear to the customer - which helps a lot)... Cheaper than an American company could (I work in American manufacturing, I'm aware of the pitfalls and some-times benefits of overseas production).

I mean, that said, they'd sell a few pairs. Enough to make up for the R&D? Yeah, probably. Because R&D doesn't cost a lot... In China.
