240 strut cartridge in 940

Well you get 20mm "free" lowering when you shorten the housing and the 240 piston is shorter when maxed out

That's what I was wondering. How did you shorten the housing? Did you just cut off the end and re-thread somehow, or did you take it out of the middle and weld the two halves together?
