Look at the photo of the wiper transmission. The wipers don't care which direction the motor rotates, they are going to go back and forth either way! As long as the radius of the arm on the motor is the same as the original Volvo the stroke length will be the same.

As far as the park function. Just run the wiper motor without the arms mounted and then turn them off. Figure out which way they where going when they parked and mount the arms accordingly. IIRC the arms can be mounted either way, pointing left or right when parked.
