So Ive been looking for a 242 thats rust free with no sunroof with factory paint.
I found this for sale on here from a member. This will replace my gt body which I have learned a lot from and some things I regret. Such as deleating the but cheeks, shaving the trim, and crashing it. Im ready for clean 242 to transplant all my goodies into. Once its in my hands ill take pictures but this one excites me:cool:

I should have it by the weekend and work will start right away!
got the car, started work immediately before work. swapped my hood and a few small interior pieces along with my gt rear popout windows.

there is some shoddy wiring work for the headlights and side markers i will be fixing with sealed crimp connectors, along with the spoiler mounting. That is a compleate hack that i will have to do somthing about, the inside frame of the trunk is bet and cut with what seems like a tin snips. I think i can get it to look ok again, pictures will be posted as i go along.
p.o installed a spoiler yo... god i hate when stuff is rigged like this... a simple swivel socket would have solved this. instead it was molested with a tin snips.

the small rear window rust area. there is a small hole, hard to see now that i sprayed it with undercoat until it gets painted.
<a href="http://s265.photobucket.com/user/2fast242gt/media/20130801_125458.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii234/2fast242gt/20130801_125458.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 20130801_125458.jpg"/></a>

door rust, doesnt look bad and it really isnt the seam is a little swelled but saveable. i do however have a rust free door in my attic i will be using to replace this one. I will keep this one for a backup.

the rear mudflap brackets were deated with what seems to be a hammer and chisel, this is the buttcheek and it has multiple small dings and a hole ripped in it.
<a href="http://s265.photobucket.com/user/2fast242gt/media/20130801_125639.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii234/2fast242gt/20130801_125639.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 20130801_125639.jpg"/></a>
overall its what i expected. But i do wish the car was never modified in any way shape or form before i got it. it sucks fixing other peoples poor craftsmanship.
Today I did this
<a href=http://s265.photobucket.com/albums/ii234/2fast242gt/?action=view&current=20130802_121736.jpg target=_blank><img src=http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii234/2fast242gt/20130802_121736.jpg border=0 alt=></a>

Finished the quarter panel roll. Works much better than a hammer
today i hung a rustfree arizona door. now the car is 99% rust free.
p.o installed a spoiler yo... god i hate when stuff is rigged like this... a simple swivel socket would have solved this. instead it was molested with a tin snips.

<a href="http://s265.photobucket.com/user/2fast242gt/media/20130808_123651.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii234/2fast242gt/20130808_123651.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 20130808_123651.jpg"/></a>
Here is the body work progress. Small rust spot by the back window was cut out and a new piece sectioned in from a donar car, weld thru primer was used and it will be sprayed from underneath with a specialty gun I bought for spraying inside rockers ect. Front fender holes also welded.

I took these off today to install the coilovers i built a while back.

<a href="http://s265.photobucket.com/user/2fast242gt/media/20130902_231123.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii234/2fast242gt/20130902_231123.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 20130902_231123.jpg"/></a>
fixed the group a spoiler which had a bunch of poorly done helicoils in it. i used Keensert, its ideal for this as it has locking prongs you pound down after to keep it from spinning. it also was done in stainless.
<a href="http://s265.photobucket.com/user/2fast242gt/media/20130906_010141.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii234/2fast242gt/20130906_010141.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 20130906_010141.jpg"/></a>
quick testfit. fits nice besides whoever drilled the holes did it slightly crooked. 3/4 holes match up...

I'm glad your changing up your old ride, the last one didn't suit me much.

applied for hobbiest / street modified plates today... that's always nerve racking sending your title away, i figured it would be smart to apply now and send the required pictures rather than apply after it has a 6.0l in it ect ect. I hope i get them again!

Why did you regret the butt cheek delete? Been considering it for my own beige-mobile

any rain will accumulate in the trunk, its hard to get it to drain nearly as good as the factory did, basically if you do it dont drive in the rain and pop your trunk after every wash and wipe the water out.

Very cool man. Sticking with the same wheels too? Would look sick with some unobtanium j55 Ferrari wheels with the centers blacked out
