Lumber Wagon Version VII

Luckily the replacement windshield was set in the OE style Butyl Flex.
A nice old paring knife is my choice to cut the goo.
The windshield tool is quicker, but it gouges the paint in the channel.
Now or later the time will be spent,I would rather not make unnecessary work for myself.

IPE" 1 X 3 chopped at 63? cuts the Butyl out of the windshield channel.

The Roloc disc makes quick work of paint and rust scale removal.
POR Metal Ready [Phosphoric Acid with Zinc] is next.

What you doing messing with ZINC??

Redwood. Since you are the +1 paint man IMO,give me some help on this. I want to paint my old IPD 25/23 sways BLUE, to match the other NEW IPD stuff I'm installing.

They are the GOLD colored finish(Gold anodized or zinc, not sure. They were really gold looking, not rainbow looking.) I PAINTED them with CLEAR before I installed them in 1997 on a 79 245. They are on my 91 244 now.

What do I need to do to properly prep them for the Rustoleum Blue(or should I use an epoxy based spray paint in blue) I'm gonna paint them with?? Just sand the old clear a little & spray them? Or remove clear & the gold,zinc/anodizing ,get to bare metel & then paint?

Is DTM Epoxy available in Spray cans? Does the remover & alcohol remove or treat the cadmium? Or will I just be painting over the cadmium? I'm unclear on this.

I might buff it off with the wire buffer. No Mask. Just kidding, now I need to know who makes epoxy paint, in spray cans, in IPD blue.
Did not see it at Lowes. Only silver & white, epoxy "Appliance Paint". Guess I'll google. Thanks Redwood!!!!!

Got lucky, I think. I found one brand of epoxy, in a spray can, with a good range of colors(not just beige white & black). Have you ever used "ZERO RUST" epoxy paints??
They had blue, & looks like it might match IPD blue fairly close. I got 2 cans coming.
