Boosted on a budget

Check it out! And I hardly used any duct tape...

Looks like you put a big ass dent in it while drilling the hole out!

On the real it's looking good though

The Wagon of Doom has many scars. Got that one at the Nurburgring. Turn six while slowing for a Z8 as I recall.

When I arrive on the scene, there is a hushed appreciation for the aging warrior. Or maybe it's the wonder that she's motivating under her own power...

I had to work this weekend so I didn't get to make the skid plate. However, I had today off so I ended up stripping all my window tint off that was old and peeling. It was easier than I thought it would be.

After doing that, I started to wash and clean up my wheels. My kids came out and asked if they could help. They said "can we paint your ugly car?" lol. I said sure it needs paint.

Here's what they came up with:

I also started a new project that I didn't finish. I should be done this week sometime. I hope it turns out well. I have been failing lately. We will see...

Thinking about painting the hood in chalk board paint and letting people sign it at ipd, take a picture for memories and then get rid of it when I paint the car.

I mentioned a project I started and I ended up finishing it right before the ipd meet. Ended up better than I imagined.

Everyone with GTA wheels can appreciate this ghettofabbed update. I have been wanting to add center caps for a while. The problem is the stock caps are longer than my wiener (I know:oops:) so I had to find something that has the same sized center bore. Nothing exists. The closest I found was a KIA minivan looking thing. Iirc it's a Sorento. I grabbed the only one I could find from the local junk yard and test fit it when I got home. Perfect fit with just a tad bit of an overlap which I did. It mind. I set out to find three more.

Here you can see the caps that I ordered from eBay for $20 full set:

Popped out the plastic KIA logo and realized it was domed shaped :-(

This sucked because I could not place a decal on the convex surface. I ended up cutting out the backs:

I used that same plastic from the sheet rock tray and made some backing:

Once it fit right I epoxied the back:

I went to this decal maker on base who made the stickers for me. Just stuck em in and then started the epoxy stage:

Mixed and poured. There were tons of bubbles but I red online somewhere that using a straw can make them float to the surface:

Totally worked! Here is the finished cap:

They came out pretty good. I'm excited. Another ghettofab product!

Hope you guys find this fun and informational. Until next time...

Hell yea dude, amazing work as usual! Glad to have met you, your car is an incredible inspiration, thanks for coming down!

Love the epoxy touch, I used the same stuff to make a bartop at our shop, pretty cool stuff. Make sure whatever surface you're working on is level though!
