The Frog v3 - 242 5.3tt

I have previously owned two Shenandoah green/Medium green 242 from 1976.

The first one had a M50B25 from BMW E34 with VEMS ecu

Someone had started to build a turbo B230 in it and it was in bits and pieces so i started with some rustrepair on the floor, and it was a quick job because there wasnt any ;)

Same day as the inspection i threw the B20 out and started to fit the new engine

5.3 LM7 from a Tahoe

Not much space for the truck intake, had to cut som plastic and reinforcement on the hood

The pan needed some cutting too, and obviously i have to cut it some more

I used this device to get the engine centered in the front while i was getting it to sit like i wanted. Makes the job alot easier

Super HX40, should get the job done!

Thinking about using the stock manifolds. Nice fit in the 240 engine bay

Yeah, even if your english lets you down in the future (it hasn't yet), the scope of your project and the quality of the build more than make up for it. We'll be all right.

This looks promising.

What happened to the S38 powered 242? I found your build thread but last post was from a few years back.

How well was the S38 suited to the car?

Hey!! Great car and great name for it too!!

Don't worry about your english too much. You're all good!

Keep the updates flowing ;)

I sold it and the guy who bought it drove it for a while and then he took the engine out and put in in a BMW e30

The S38 is a HUGE engine but a 240 fits everything :) Only had to notch the oilpan a little, change the angle at the end of the headers and make a new lower mount for the radiator because the engine is so long.

Saw a photo of your centering jig on the LS forum the other day. Great work so far!

What are the plans for the motor? (Cam, springs, etc?)

What transmission you plan use?

Manual 6-speed from a BMW diesel

I am going to swap cam, springs and pushrods...don?t know what i am going to use yet. Rest of the engine will be stock
I will be running manual 6-speed, E85, intercooler

Anyone got a T56 from a LS1 who can be kind and measure some dimensions for me?
I need to know the following:

A. How long is the part of the input shaft that is sticking out of the bellhousing?
B. How long is the part of the input shaft that is for the pilot bearing?
C. How long are the splines?
