Volvo 240 Brake Master Cylinder question

So I have replaced the brakes and rebuilt the calipers. I flushed the system and still experience the same sensation in the brake pedal. It will start firm, as if stopping, sits for a second, but slowly sinks maybe 1/4 ways to the floor, but never to the floor. I suspect the master cylinder seal is bad.

Now, would a master cylinder ever cause a CEL to come on?

And is there a trick to taking out the reservoir as not to snap the plastic on the MC?

A new ATE master cylinder will come with a new reservoir already installed.

If it's been leaking for a while it may have softened and ruined the brake booster seal.

Good call. I'd say it's been leaking for approximately 6 months (2000 miles). Might be better to do the whole shebang.

Pull it off first and take a look, good cheap boosters are hard to find now unless you have good junkyards nearby.

Or post in wanted and pay your ride I guess...
