So I have enough done now that I thought id do a build thread.
Car was very rought when I got it. Busted lenses, dents, stripped paint, leaky turbo and much more. I have already had to replace the harmonic balancer and crank gear. I also have brake pads to install, and a replacement turbo in the way. here are some pics from when I bought it home. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

New (tinted) rear lights installed...and new corner lights. Waiting on new headlights.
Repainted the trunk, roof and hood. Added trunk spoiler lip. Removed lame decals and added some TB decals and "got boost" stickers. Once the new turbo is installed Ill clean all the oil off the passenger side and rear of the car. sucker leaks really bad! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by ghost civic; 03-23-2012 at 06:02 PM.. |

I think I will de-badge the rear.
I am also gonna repaint all the trim when I get a chance. I also have hub caps on the way. Ill repaint the rims a gloss black once I get the caps. Once those things are done the exterior wont look bad. I do hope to find a replacement door for the driver/rear. I tried a dent puller but the dent is in a tough spot and the metal is thick. I cant get to the dent from the inside of the door either. Oh, after the car gets a new sticker Ill add tint to the rear windows |

No more stickers or decals will be added. Its got just the right amount now IMO. It has a few, but they are all small, except for the IPD banner. And that was there when I bought it. Oh, and the brake lights are NOT as dark as they apprear in the pics. I only did 2 light coats of tint on them. In the light they are still very see-threw. The previous owner had actually painted the light with black primer paint. LAME. |

I am pretty happy with my paint job.
I went to Napa and the guy used a fancy camera (looked more like a radar gun) to get the paint formula. Matched the paint on the car really good! 5 cans ($80) and a couple hours later really made a big difference in the looks. |

yep. just messured the decklid and typed in the width + m3 spoiler. Its the exact lenght. Just 3m tape, went on in seconds.
Not as nice as some of the spoilers I have seen on TB'ers cars....but my money needs to be going toward mechanical parts and the m3 spoiler was $30 shipped. I think it adds alittle to the looks. I kinda wanted a transam(or was it firebird) spoiler that ive seen on a few 740's...but couldnt find one locally. Oh, I envy your black wagon. 740 wagons are sweet. I looked for one before buying this 740 sedan...but couldnt find one in my price range. |

They are pretty sweet looking. Also, on the spoiler, they could be painted to match the car very easy. This would change the look alot. Youd have the lip, but it wouldnt stand out as much. These spoilers are also flexible, so if you roof/trunk isnt striaght on the back the spoiler can be bent to match. the 740 decklid has a slight curve...very easy to match. The tape it comes with is pretty strong to. Mine came rolled up in the box (cold) so I had to let it sit on my table to relax and lay flat. Really not a bad product for $30. |

I have considered it.
but the roads around here suck really bad. I dont want to make the car any stiffer. And the ground clearance help in the winter. So, at the expense of looks Im gonna keep it stock hight. Now, if I had the $$$ for a airbag system so I could adjust the hight as needed that would be cool. |
