I'm wondering if I can run a mild ported 531 head and b230f+t @ 7 psi safely on lh 2.2? Will this be to much power for the bottom end on the 88 b230f+t?

the 9mm rods should handle that no problem...
the thing u need to watch like kenny said is timing is it a 240. have you added ignition that pulls timing with boost? my lh2.2 240 +T ran 7psi fine on lh but i had to keep the timing a little low and it made off throttle responses so so. |

Heh heh heh..... Those 9mm rods are actually pretty stout, but they will die if you push em too hard. I was running 15psi through a 42 trim for like 5 months, then 15psi through a 60/63 for a few months, then 10-15 psi through my holset and 405 head on my '85 B230f engine for a few months. And now I'm gloriously de-turbo'ed and still running like a champ. Though I'm tempted as hell to throw on a small turbo again, N/A driving SUCKS!
So yeah, you'll be fine with a 531 and 7psi on an F+T, so long as it doesn't ping like morse code. And if it does the translation is that you're engine's gonna splode!
