Finally got my first bumper-modification attempt painted and installed. I am satisfied by the results, but think I could do better next time, so maybe I'll try something more extreme.

This one still needs the S70 fog lights installed, and some mesh, with a scoop to direct air towards the rad. Also, BIG ISSUE: Needs a custom grill that has rounded corners to fill into the bumper.... The standard bertone grill is about 1.5" too short.

Let's see how long I can get away without having a front license plate before getting a ticket.

Also in the future, black+chrome bump protectors on doors and rear quarter panels will come off, and be replaced with something more low-pro and painted to match.

i've been waiting for those final pics to come up! the process photos made me wonder, did you leave the foam under the top lip? or did you manage to smooth out the whole piece and then just add some backing to it?

maybe you should use the side trim from a 960? only problem would be the whole 4 door/2-door thing

VERY NICE!!!!!!!!

When ya fix that grille ya gotta paint it the same colour as your car, maybe add some eyelids too! Are you planning to do the sides and back too? I hope so!

Very nice job once again!

-Jonathan

-ps Where did you find the bumper cover? How much?

I ordered the cover from the local parts store. I think they got it from a company called "cross canada" ... It cost me approx $200 canadian dollars.

Yeah, the rockers, rear, mirrors, etc will all be painted to match.

Round bumper on a square car huh? Doesn't quite flow with the rest of the car. Like when people put M3 mirrirs on 240s.

Looks good!
It blends well, gives the front of the 780 a more finished look IMO.
I agree the round/square comment, but it has been done well and looks great!

great job, keep it up!
take care

Luke

Thank-you for the nice comments everybody.

Hoggster does make a valid point. I am pondering some DTM style corner splitters ( bolt-on for S70! fwd gets all the cool toys ) They should square the front corners off again, and tie things in a little better. Major problem right now is no dough.

Agreed. It doesn't look right at all, IMO.
