Default redblock questions

Has anyone looked at the 2490cc marine block as a replacment for a 230ft block?

Its cast B230 so does the bellhousing, crank and motor mount castings change in marine app?

Yes, you can safely assume that it's been done and looked at as an upgrade. It's the automotive engine redone for marine use with a stroker crank, matching pistons, and better cams along with a slightly better cylinder head than the cars in the US got. Just have to watch out for corrosion especially in the number four exhaust port. But you can remove all the marine stuff that's in the way of making it an automotive engine and put it in a car.

There was a Penta FAQ thread created on this, and makes for a good read.

Take a look: http://forums.turbobricks.com/showthread.php?t=24675

No turbo, automatic. Regina. Too much traction.
