volvo 144 use metric ro standard wrenches??

I'm going to go out on a limb & say "yes"

My 79 had a large combination of both SAE & metric fittings.

Bring in a set of each just in case though.

Depends on the year.
Body is standard.
Engine metric in later years.

All of the 1xx cars I've owned, have been all Imperial. Mostly UNC (rather than UNF).

There's still plenty of Imperial fasteners on an early 240 (although they are mostly metric).

All 140 engine/body/chassis/suspension up to '74 is English SAE sizes with few exceptions. I thing that includes all US models,
'75 140 in Europe would be metric, as that was the switch year for metric and the 240 model
All carb models are English SAE sizes for fuel delivery, manifolds
All FI models are metric sizes for fuel delivery, manifold parts, sensors, etc.

I had on mine a f*ck ton of SAE stuff but the motor was Metric, it just depends on how much stuff the PO did to it.
