Hi!

I've seen through this site a couple of times, and i think i had a user here for about 3-4 years ago, when i had a Volvo 360.

Well, this time around, i have a 1989 240. I've had it since September 2006 i believe it was.
Some of what i have done so far:
IPD sway-bars 25/25mm
IPD torquerods
IPD panhard-rod
"GT"rods in the engine-bay
"Ambulance-rods" from the controlarms and to the "crossbeam" under the engine (Jeez, some words just won't come to my mind :p )
Superflex bushings in the entire chassis
Detroit TrueTrack, with all overhauled axle
Bilstein Clubsport-dampers
Lesj?fors 35mm loweringsprings, "homelowered" to about 100mm i believe.
New brakelines, steelbraided.

Thats some of the things that i had done to the car, before i started again now.
What i'm doing now is removing car-cancer (RUST!), and changing bad steelplates, like both rear wings, the panel under the doors, all 4 doors, the backplate with the lights, and boot-top.
It's going to be re-painted the same colour as it has today, the Volvo 410 colour.

Engine-plans for now:
96 B230FK block
H-beam rods, drawn by Wetterhus in Norway
new Mahle pistons
new high-flow oilpump
maybe i'll go for the Autronic SM4 enginemanagement
Turbonetics turbo, thinking of the T3 super60 ar63, a friend of mine had this and his engine put out 300bhp, 450nm with E85 and SM4, about 116bhp/200nm at 2000rpm. :)
Ported 530 head, with a "race-cam", and adjustable camgears.

It's also coming a rollcage, and 2 bucketseats.
More info to come.
Here is a couple pics, and 2 vids at the end. :)

Helmet-bashers for the rollcage.

The rollcage. Here it is, a main-beam, door-beams(cross) tubes to go back (and a cross) and tubes to go to the front. And helmet-bashers in the top door-corner.

Some rather poor pics of the "workshop" me and 3 friends have. The 2 other Volvos here also have turboes, the silver puts out 417bhp at E85, the silvergreen (without frontwings) puts out 300bhp/450nm at E85.

Some of the pics are from Rudskogen, in Norway. Its where the biggest of the Gatebil-meets are, if you have heard of it. :p

Here are two vids, also from Rudskogen. There was this guy who asked if he could get a ride, sure he could, and his father filmed a little bit.

Thank you!!

Think i have wrong-posted this, tho. any mods able to push it to the right forum-parts? Damn stupid norwegians..

Well this is the place to showroom your car. If you this is an on going project then you want it posted in the Projects and Restorations sub forum. I'll ask an admin to move it for you.

P.S. I subscribed! :-D

Yes, i'm working on the car these days, its a "WIP", work in progress :p

Nice, thanks!

And, :-D

awesome car man! what all are you doing to the engine?

Thank you!! :)

Well, first out i'm building the engine to hold about 400-450 hp (at least.. H-rods is necessary for these outtakes, and the pistons won't be a problem before maybe 450-500 hp) but as a "first step", i'll settle with 250-300 hp. This is because i am going to have numberplates on the car, and in Norway we arent allowed to exceed 220hp, with the standard ventilated brakes.
So, i'm just going to have a "street-legal" map to the ECU, and a "race-map" to put out about 300hp. The reason for my first goal of 300hp is because i don't want too much power when i get the car going, because i'm going to try the "AutoX" (i believe you call it? We call it "Autoslalom", like the skiing-sport), trackdays with a little time-attack, and some "drifting".
Just to get to know the car, i'll settle with 300 hp the first summer, then who knows whats gonna happen. hehe.

I also have the B230F that sat in the car, that i can build a stronger engine, to handle 5-600 hp. I am having wet dreams about 16V an 5-600 hp, but thats a long way to go.

EDIT:
What i'm doing specifically to the engine, is new H-beam rods, Mahle pistons, new bearings, bored the cylinders, highflow oilpump, ported 530 head, some turbo of some kind, either Megasquirt or the Autronic SM4 engine management (havent decided yet..), FT/FK exhaustmanifold, FT/FK intake-manifold. Thats about whats interesting with the engine. :)
Btw, i've seen a 8V volvo-motor, 2.5litres, ported 531, standard FT/FK intake-manifold, standard fuelrail and fuelpressure-regulator, custom exhaust-manifold, and that beast put out 482 hp and 700 nm, on standard gasoline! ****, that engine was strong as a cow, it had about 200-250 nm at 2000 rpm...!

Found back a time i did in Autocross in June 2008.
1.22.20 was the time, wet asphalt. Ranked as 8 of 14. And, original B230F, an first Autocross ever. (Yeye, enough of the excuses :p )

I'm not sure if it is the same autocross that you have at your countries, but here are vid from another event.
(yes, its 1.07.95, but it is also dry, and he has a "lot" more power :p )

Done something more to this piece of crap.. :p
Hope to be ready for pre-paint (what you call it?) next week, if it's not too much to do on work.. And, christmas next week, almost 1 week off job, to fiddle around.. :p

I've worked a bit again. Now the car is clean of wires and ****, the dash is comepletely out, and engine-bay is cleaned. Now it's time for some sandblasting, and "upper suspension-swaybar"-modification/fabrication.

Some pics, found some rust in the floor. Didn't look very long, but hope this is "all", anyway i'll fix it without big trouble. :)

And, i've bought a whore to have in the "workshop", who sees her? :D

Nice to see a thorough job is being done! Anymore progress been made? If this 240 is half as nice as your S90R it will be a bitchin' 244! Nice work so far man!

thank you!

No, unlucky me got a flue before the christmas, and i still have it! So not as much progress as i was hoping for.

What S90R, the one i posted in the 700-inspiration-thread? That isn't mine, that is a guy called "Turboevensen", he is norwegian to. He has a couple badass builds!

But i hope my 240 can "hold it's own", when it's done. :)
