Default Philly Area Carlisle Caravan Thread

Meeting around 10AM in the West side parking lot of the South Philly Ikea. Rolling out of Ikea by 11AM at the latest. We'll also be meeting up with everybody at the Perkins truck stop again, just like last year. Trying to get there around 1PM.

I'll have some friends with me in my car and as before, I'll have a CB radio. Anyone who wants to join that club, get a CB set up together! I'll also bring a bunch of hand held radios for people without CBs so we can keep in touch. We found last year that it was kind of a pain to text or call the other cars that didn't have CBs. lol. Also making a shout for EZ-PASS. Some of us had it, some of us didn't and it was a clusterf*ck at the tolls. Anyone coming should also plan to get EZ-PASS or an equivalent device. If you really don't want to or can't for some reason, we'll leave you at the tolls and you'll have to catch back up. Hahaha. Not really though. We'll wait for you.

So here's the list so far! If you'd like to come eith us and would like to be added to the list, just let me know! Please confirm whether you'll have EZ-PASS and/or a CB or not so I can plan accordingly. You know you want to be in the cool kid's club...

1. Peter/FlyingTog/960R Wagon. CB and EZ-PASS
2. Jen and Jay/xxJenoxx and amerbritcan/242TIC. EZ PASS maybe CB
3. Mike/CollinstheClown/244. EZ PASS and CB
4. Leah/tehcoconuts/245DL. CB and Hunderd Dolla Billz
6. Josh/vivalavolvo/855 T5. CB and Hunderd Dolla Billz
5. Tim/PhillyTim/740 V8. EZPass

In my car with me because their cars are stupid: Nat and Cassie/nrgnut/Impreza and Miata that are both broken. Chris/Turd/E36 325IS with a roasted wheel bearing.

Not in the caravan up due to having to work on Friday, but will be in the caravan home:
6. Drew/Da_Folvo/2011 C30R-Design. EZ-PASS
7. Matt/'92 245 autocross beast. Toll money of some sort... Lol.

Are you talking about for Carlisle? If so which day? I am usually at Carlisle by 9 or 10 each day.

Yes, we're getting a group together to caravan to Carlisle from Philly on that Friday. We all camp, usually. I'm sure we'll see you there!

Bump! Get your name on the list! Please confirm EZ-PASS and whether you'll need a hand held radio or will have a CB!

Jay and I should be in. I'll comment on that more when I know what my school schedule is like then, but I know it's May long weekend, anyway.

Jen/xxJenoxx/242tic EZ PASS (Just have to load it up) and I'll see if I can get a CB this time.

What CB channel do you use for this? I will be going past Baltimore, and might get Friday off. So I am out of the caravan, but the radios could be handy for Carlisle. I have wanted a handheld for a while.

Mike/CollinstheClown/244 EZ PASS and CB

Depending on lazy-ness/money I might change that to +T.

Usually in the mid to high 20s. whatever channel seemingly doesn't have traffic. 24-25-26, one of those. I skip back to channel 19 a lot to keep tabs on the truckers and bears but we usually try to avoid channel 19 otherwise. I love CBs. They're so much fun!

Just emailed my dad about potentially installing a CB for the convoy. I know he has, like....5 of them kicking around. How the fack do you install one? Never even looked at how they were wired in his old cars or trucks.

HOLY FACKING CRAP, I'M SO STOKED FOR THIS!

Also, Pete, you can add Jay to my car for this year. His 850 is less than stellar (not that my 242 isn't!) and it's waaaaaay easier and cheaper for us to take one car.

I can't believe we're coming up on the 1 year anniversary of poopie scissors. If you don't sit with me and Jen at Perkins you're not in the cool club.

Nick, you must not know what fun is. I thought high-centering your car trying to get out of a parking lot last year was a blast.

ok, I got a decision to make tonight. Should I go with the custom PA tag ("V8LVO") or should I keep this thing as a complete sleeper? I'm leaning toward getting the tag. It's a gold volvo wagon, no one's gonna pay attention to the tag until they're looking at my tail lights. Of course, having a normal plate would add even more WTFness.

I say go with the custom plate. Still adds WTF factor. I have a clever custom plate for my car I'm going to get soon.

Do it. And be glad they're so cheap in the states. Holy ****, are custom plates ever expensive up here.
