Default Go deep!

850 deep baffled pans on the horizon for the masses.

Similar to this when complete with a few modifications. It won't be a wet sump either.

I seen some pretty spendy red block stuff.

I usually run everything balanced. I occasionally run for max cleaning depending on the material.

This helps keep the rods where they belong.

CJ...don't you mean it will be a wet sump?

That pan you show is a wet sump pan.

Which is cool, because they are pumping oil into the gated section where the sump sits. It's a fun "wetter" sump way of doing it....when dry sump is too $$$$

So how much for one of these pans? I wanna track day my wagon...but I've scattered a few of these at the track to know that high G cornering doesn't suit the stock pan too well.

You're right. It won't have those fittings though, gravity drain. It's more like this one.

No pricing yet.

That wont clear and rwd crossmember....... Lol.. looking good.. Im pretty sure the reason my 850 spun a rod bearing is because of oil starvation while cornering. I took a very long fwy onramp and had a little tick afterwards that in a few miles turned into a clunk then obvious spun bearing noise.

Good for you. I'd seen the oil pressure drop to scary low numbers numerous times on hard sweepers in my old t5r. Something you absolutely have to watch.

Is this for George's R? I know he was talking about trap doors since he spun some bearings last autox.

CJ...I'm kinda curious on a price for this when you figure it out. I'm installing a gripper soon and this would be a good mod to do while the tranny is out. I don't really wanna take any chances..

Thanks Doug, it's happened to me so I know.

Greg, yes, it is.

I will have pricing by Monday. I made some changes and will have the prototype pieces later today. This should reduce cost quite a bit.

Got to weld it together today, but no pics. Even bolted to the 2" steel plate it warped a small bit.

Here are a couple of pics of the new baffle setup. It really came out nice. I also removed some more of the factory baffling in order to install my own baffling. Additional photos forthcoming.

so how is the baffle going to be secured in the pan?
any reason you are using steel baffles and not just making it all out of aluminum?
this intrigues me alot since i am doing the same thing right now for my swap, always trying to learn ;)

These photos show removal of the last original baffles and polished the inside of the pan. New baffles will go in 3 locations, pretty much at the corners of the doghouse. This is the prototype and there will be some changes in the final production version. I am using steel because of the hinges inside the dog house. You could possibly use an aluminum hinge, but some characteristics of the aluminum might not be desirable.

Surfaced the pan after welding and installed the baffles. Now to install the drain screen and voila, she's a fini
