Default windshield replacement and tirm options

Posted via Mobile Device Somewhere I have read that when it comes time to replace your windshield that one can use 93 trim / install kit on older models in order to reduce wind noise, turbulence, drag ect. Where do you obtain the pieces, kit, whatever? My roomate works at a glass and mirror shop and they do windshields for everything, but she has no idea what I'm talking about. Got caught in downpour today and had a leak at the top just left of center, really want to do the 93 trick, just not sure if I'm asking the right question to the right people.

What year/model are you buying for, and whereabouts are you located?

91+ windshield has flush rubber trim bonded to the windshield. Don't think you can easily change that w/o replacing the windshield.

My PPG windshield cost 225 installed. I pushed out my 88 windshield due to a leaky gasket, repaired the rust and had a 93 windshield installed. Much nicer seal. The old chrome looked nice, but I'd rather have a windshield that doesn't leak.

The windshield shop where I got mine put in used a universal type black rubber trim for the install. It looks nice. The old metal trim was kaput.

There is this local company perkins auto glass (highly recommend to anyone in the salt lake area) that changed mine out for $170. The windshield is safelite brand and the guy managed to not break any of the brittle plastic trim on my 780 when installing.

Pulling a windshield from another volvo is not worth the trouble when you think about how cheap you can get a new one installed.

Posted via Mobile Device That sounds like what I'm looking for, I am aware of what I am getting into as far as labor is concerned and materials will cost me at least $50, but am paying $200 for the car and the windshield is perfect ...
