Default Stupid MAF/MAP sensor question

Since I've finished my +T, one of the things I've been promising myself is that I would come back and do a proper inlet tract in comparison to the abortion of thrown together bits I have now. One thing that would be nice is removing the MAF from the airflow stream alltogether, but I figure the only way that would be possible is if I could convert to a MAP sensor.

Come to think of it, it would also allow me to use this compressor mounted BOV plate thing.

Is it possible to convert to a MAP type setup with an LH box?

If not, can anyone who has done it give me their experience with taking the guts out of a 016 MAF sensor and putting it inside some 3 inch pipe?

Cheers,
BDKR

Cool! Thanx for the info.

I began digging for VPC info but it seems that HKS no longer makes any. It doesn't appear they had a Universal version anyway. Now GSC has their Map ECU stuff, but that's 600 bucks! No thanx!

I hear it's possible via an SAFC to use a MAP sensor, but I'm not sure I like that idea after Toby's experience. Any thoughts along those lines?

Anyway, back into the garage.

Cheers

vpc actually converts it to speed density (to a degree), afc is used mainly only for fine tuning things, it doesnt really convert so much as it just modifies

LOL! Oooopppps! I actually remember a lot of the talk but I think I was focusing on other things that I was unclear on. On the intake side, the idea was to go stock in the beginning so I didn't really pay it too much attention.

Well, it looks like I got one tracked down. I'll let you know how it works out once I get it in the car.

Thanx!
