Default EDIS question

Can you run an EDIS ignition system on a b230ft without using megasquirt ?

The conversion I am planning might make it very tight near the firewall where the current
distributor is .

my engine is an 89 B230FT . and I really don't want to go thru the trouble of a megasquirt
system .

I think you're on the wrong track here. EDIS would require a new trigger wheel, and without another computer (like a megasquirt) telling the EDIS box what advance you want, the timing will be stuck at 10 degrees.

What about going to a block mount distributor?

If you're running LH2.4, you can also convert the EZK to distributorless ignition using a conversion board that I sell. Link is in my sig.

Megajolt will run EDIS for ignition alone. I did this for my Amazon B20 and is simple enough.

yea . You are right , my main goal is to get away from the distributor . I like your system
but I think I have a 2.2 system . you will have to excuse my lack of knowledge I am new with these engines and am learning as I go .

Can I convert my engine to 2.4 and then install your system ?? If yes how do I go about this . I tried to do a search on the conversion but couldn't find anything maybe you could point me in the right direction . Thanks

I have a complete megajolt system laying around, but from my research I would still need the distributor for fuel triggering .

i'm assuming that your car is a 240, and you are swapping in the b230ft into it.

Use the 240 distributor in the b230ft block. there is a hole in the block already for the distributor. It's a steel plug just pop that out, get a 240 auxillary gear (so that it can run the distributor) and viola!

I am going to swap a b230ft into a Triumph Spitfire . That is why everything is so tight .

Any idea where I can find the parts to do the distributor change ??

Pretty much any 240 will have the parts you need. Pop that plug out and look down the hole. If the aux shaft has a gear cut in to it, you just need a 240 distributor. If there's no gear, you're going to need the aux shaft from a 240 as well.
