Default 240 Antenna coax

When metering the coax cable leading from from antenna to radio was getting open circuit. I found that Volvo had put in a capacitor Very small cap at radio end of coax. I've never seen a cap in line with antenna signal before, How important is this capacitor? Installing after market radio & was not getting a signal to radio .

1979-1984 OEM parts booklet does not show this....perhaps to eliminate fuel pumps' electrical noises.

Yeah,I doubt that it would show in parts book as they would sell it as an cable assembly , Think capacitor is a by pass filter that may not be needed with newer radios.
