![]() Hi all, I believe I read somewhere that early 240s had 20lb flywheels while the later cars with a B230 came with 32lb flywheels.
I know that LH2.4 requires those crank position sensor notches, but does anyone know if it's possible to swap an early 20lb flywheel into a later LH2.2 car? Seems like this would be a pretty cheap and reliable performance upgrade come clutch-change time if it's possible. |

![]() A flat flywheel on an LH2.2 B230F is how the manual cars were till 87. I got the best mileage of any Volvo I've owned with that setup in the 86 244 manual car I used to own.

![]() We never had LH2.2 here. From what I can see there is no crank sensor so if that is the case then you can use the older flat flywheel.
Just bear in mind you are going down from a 228mm clutch to a 215mm clutch |
