![]() Actually, just tried that (was going to plug it with the lh2.4 CTS) and its too big. I did, however, found a m11x1.5 tap, and that threads in nicely.
This is for the drivers side upper hole. The bottom hole is the same as a b230ft coolant drain |

![]() What about the oil/tranny cooler lines? I am a bit selfish since I need to find me some crush washers for the oil cooler return line as t gets to the oil filter bracket.

![]() Not sure if this has been posted before elsewhere in another thread - it's a cross reference of fasteners to Volvo part numbers, dated September / October 2003 - but I figure it belongs in this one.

![]() Let's start by saying I'm in the process of rebuilding my B230F out of my 85 wagon. I've done your common ford rebuilds and always just had access to hardware kits top to bottom everything you need or don't. As far as kits for this engine only thing I can seem to find are head bolt kits. So that being said I am now working with my Fastenal guy to build a hardware kit for MY particular application. I figured good enough news for everyone else he has offered once the kit is complete to assign it a Fastenal PN so if anyone else would like to buy said kit they would just have to call up their local Fastenal and order that kit sounds good? Correct me if I'm wrong in doing so IE if there is already an aftermarket hardware kit available for this engine I would like to know?
Second preference in spec? Or materials used? Finishes? Third I'm assuming if this worked Fastenal would not label these packages by the particular piece for the application IE "distributor lock" "Oil Pan" you would probably receive a a jumbled bag of bolts and be sent on your way. That being said is there any added value to me building the kits and packaging them in a way that they can be used correctly and easily besides "does this fit here?" Fourth? hah I have access to fittings in various materials for various applications IE Pipe/AN/JIC/SAE including custom hose and tube assemblies for a while I was an instrument fitter and could easily build custom tubing assemblies brake lines? fuel lines? oil lines? Trans lines? of course I only have one template to go off of my 85 wagon but I'm sure we could figure something out. Back to the fasteners? For a standard rebuild? options included? now remember I'm not an FT so I'm sure I will miss some stuff I'm currently one of the idiots doing a LH2.2 Skinny rod +t I can try to spec in the Head Bolts since it would be nice to have a complete kit on the other hand that's an important piece to the puzzle and I don't know if I want to deal with the complaints of "your headbolts stretched at only 42lbs of boost" I have no clue what the clamping force needs to be on any of these engines I do not attempt to pass as an engineer on the subject but I can go off of stock volvo specs and try and shoot for something better. So top to bottom Cam cover nuts Or would your prefer a bolt? Locking hardware? Cam cover studs? Cam bearing studs? Cam bearing nuts? Locking hardware? Head Bolts? Intake studs? Intake nuts? Locking hardware? Exhaust studs? Exhaust nuts? Locking hardware? Does the hardware come with a new timing belt tensioner? If not? Tensioner? Distributor timing lock? Locking hardware? Coolant Pipe block mount? Coolant Pipe to water pump? Water pump Studs? Or bolts? Water pump pulley Fan Crank and Aux shaft cover bolts? Engine mount bracket to block L and R Engine mount bracket to frame L and R Accessory to block mounts ALT and PS AC COMP Flame trap? Oil dipstick mount Accessory to Mount Accessory tensioning Oil Pan Flex plate cover? I'm assuming that's what we are calling the aluminum piece at the rear of the oil pan? Flex plate? Bellhousing to block Starter Misc brackets Let me know Companion flange to driveshaft? Trans mount Trans crossmember I'm getting out of order Throttle body Water neck/thermostat housing Rear cam seal block off plate Anything else you can think of OR! Let me know where I can buy an entire kit and this will all be for not |

![]() Hi,
Someone asked previously about the M14 bolts for the PS pump bracket, the one where the ground wire connects to, but it was never answered. I've lost mine, does anyone know the exact measurements? Thanks

![]() This can be a tricky question given how many times these cores have been rebuilt. However, those that were unmolested (original) in my experience used the same thread you'd find on a zerk fitting - 1/4 -28 UNF. Both the British Girling fronts and the German Alfred Teves rears.

For the block, not sure if already posted: On the exhaust side, the drain and the coolant plug just below cylinder 1-2 and just above the oil filter.. G3/8 (NPT) pipe thread. The hole for the sensor that looks at the back of the flywheel, for some kind of diagnostics tool on the old B19/B21/B23, checked on a B230, is M14x1.5 Addition: Differential drain plug on my 1991 240 with 1031 rear axle: M18x1.5 drain plug with magnet, hex size SW13/13mm. Cover bolts M8x1.25 (normal pitch), M8x25mm long for the aluminium cover, M8x30mm for the 1 bolt wich holds the cable bracket etc. Sensor of the newer aluminium cover fitted with M6 bolt. The aluminium cover uses a M18x1,5mm fill plug, with 13mm head. This one can be very stuck, maybe get a replacement (whiteblock oil drain plug) as a spare right away.. Bigger hex size on those too. The steel cover uses M8x12mm and M8x16mm bolts.

![]() Instead of buying an assembled fitting, does anyone know where I can purchase just the fuel hose or hard line (Nylon 11, I think) from the fuel filter barb to the fuel pump? I believe it is 7/32'' ID.
![]() ![]() This was the hose that was on the barbs. It wasn't leaking, but it was cracked and ready to leak: ![]() On the flip side of the hose, it reads: 'Made in Germany'. |

![]() The inside diameter of the hose is 8mm. The fittings are measured at the barbs.
Most suppliers sell the hard plastic (polyamide) hose by the meter, including Volvo. It's a little difficult to install the hose, but it lasts forever (unless it gets twisted). http://www.tascaparts.com/oe-volvo/946645 https://www.belmetric.com/black-poly...eu7s89oeb4v853 The rubber hose is just high pressure FI hose. I have both types of hose in stock. |

![]() I gave up trying to find the small hose locally. Bought a barb to barb brass fitting at a big box hardware that the small barb fit inside. Cut the double barb in half and soldered the larger barb on the small one. That provided a standard size for install of a piece of high pressure FI hose and clamp.
