![]() Hello all I am looking to upgrade my turbo to a 16g. I was wondering would anyone know the steps needed to make it fit and work. I want to rebuild the turbo to make sure that everything is clean and new. I have a 92 740 turbo. Doing research I am seeing that the exhaust manifold is different for the 90+. If anyone can lead me to a write up or video that would be great.

![]() If you have a TD04HL-16T then do as in my link. Those turbos came in later FWD cars (V70's).
I don't know the TD05 to say if it's the same. I don't think Volvos came with a TD05. |

![]() You'll want a 3" dp for a 16g. Just make sure it's a T3 flange oriented in the correct direction. You'll have to machine the manifold flat too. Then fab an oil drain hose and adapt the oil inlet.
