All ignition components except the power stage and crank angle sensor are ~2 months new: cap, rotor, plugs, wires, MSD Blaster 2 coil, MSD 6A. I am not using a tach adapter as I didn't lose my tach when I installed the MSD. I am not using the double coil setup either.

If you have any ideas, LMK! gsellstr already suggested checking the CAS and power stage, as those sound like the most likely culprits to interfere with the tach. Any other ideas, LMK. I would love to get a good run at full steam!
What are your plugs gapped too? Could be spark blow out?

Wouldn't cause the tach dropout though.

The 7/9 tach's run off a flyback signal, so the lack of a tach adapter could be feeding into the issue even if it works at lower rpm, plus I would suspect either a power stage or crank sensor causing a dropout on the control side.

I will be out of town and away from the car for a few weeks, but I will try the power stage and CAS first as I have some spares in the garage. If that doesn't do it, I'll spring for a tach adapter and hope for the best. Thanks!

Just do the relay tach adapter, rather than spending the $40 or so MSD wants. Been rocking that in mine since I wrote that how-to, hasn't blinked yet.

Wish me luck East Side. I'm going to try to get a low 13 or 12 tomorrow. Last year 13.8 with 16psi on stock computer. This year 25psi, E85 and advanced timing.15g

Okay, MS box shipped out to Kenny today. Once he's done working some magic on it, reinstallation time, hopefully before it gets really hot out this way. Then once I have some funds, get the 531 installed and see how bad the trans blows. Hopefully I can get a tune on it around 18psi, see what it'll do with the nice head and full tune. Should be fun!

Rained out :/, I took it out the next day and got onto the highway and took this video below. The car is really fast now and even without a 100% launch in the video it went to 70 mph really quickly and it pulls 3rd gear better now. I should of replaced the Wastegate a long time ago.

I made two passes the first one I messed up and this one my alternator stopped working. If I can get my 60' times down and adjust the boost to come on quicker plus more seat time under 13.5 would be possible.

Have you run yet? No? Didn't think so. Shuddup.

Besides, for Volvo power we're still ahead.

yeah listen, about that. I'll just call my brother and throw down a 15 second pass in his 240 turbo wagon if/when the need arises (or, even better, learn him up some and let him make the pass himself.)

Also, dark speed hasn't run his 240 turbo wagons yet (one v8, one b230f+t)

and sam could, if he got a wild hair, run the chump wagon and his 2jz wagon when he gets it sorted out. ETA this fall on that one.

Marv is getting my old 16v 16g setup.

So yeah, yall need to start postin' up some times. This is about trash talk and friendly competition, right?

Hey, once you get that MS box back on this coast, and after IPD when I have time to swap over the 531, plus have a spare trans acquired, I'll give it the beans a bit on mine, try for a 12.

Maybe if we do a track night at IPD we can get some runs in, if anyone will ante up....
