Default Crank no Start 78 264

Bought another Volvo yesterday. It just needed a new battery to be a runner. So after jumping it and driving it around for an hour, I trailered it 3.5 hrs home. Put a new battery in and well it won't start. When you first turn it over it sounds like there is ignition and then it just keeps cranking almost like it's flooded. Also, of note when not in gear the car idled at 2k. This is my first with the v6, so any advice or links to info for this engine would be greatly appreciated.

Have lots of educational experience with that engine. Really not much difference from the 4 cylinder versions as far as fuel, timing and spark. Uses the same type of cold start injector, same frequency valve, same fuel distributor and Control Pressure Regulator.

The 2k rpm shouts vacuum leak.

Do you have spark?

What do the spark plugs look like?

Has the car been sitting or driven prior to purchase? How many miles on the engine?

Do you have fuel at the injectors. Pull one and put in a bottle while cranking.

Here are links to some of the issues that I had and enjoyed.

Give us a little test results information and we will be happy to help.

I left out another half dozen threads on things I have truly enjoyed that don't relate to starting.

That engine, especially the early years, was very prone to wiping the lobes off the cams due to lubrication problems. Check compression.

See picture below for tune up procedure.

Thanks TestPoint, I will be digging into on Saturday.
I have two guesses based off my current reading. The vacuum leak idea, as I found several lines that were not hooked up. The second being the cold start system. We started it in a warm garage and then trailered it through 30ish*F temps to home where it wouldn't start.
I guess we'll see

Well, after some digging I got the vacuum leaks sealed and the car started right up. Now I am having some issue with random hard starts that involve the frequency valve buzzing while the car is off. I did some reading and it seems the main fuel pump relay needs to be checked because the valve should not have power with the key off and that it also interacts with the O2 sensor which currently has a broken wire. So, I guess I will fix that up and see where I stand.
