Absolutely. A disinterested third party would be best. Preferably in their car. Lol.

M47 is leaking front and rear. Do these have a vent that may be plugged causing internal pressure?

Stupid car. I’m getting a Mustang Bullitt.

591 is LH2.4, 541 is LH2.2. That said, they are both turbo ECUs.

149 hp at 4800 rpm and 10.9 psi boost. Torque very flat at 169 lbs. Air / fuel is good at 11:1 but gets fat over 5k. Very happy.

The last image shows the before (B230 NA) and after (B21FT). We went from 111 to 149 or 38 HP. Torque went from 133 lbs to 169 lbs.

Give it an extra degree of base advance and see how it likes it

I thought the cam would rev more. Maybe the tiny turbo choked it.

What turbo? I was thinking 150-160 when you posted the 250 joke. Definitely needs more timing. With that torque curve and afrs, I’d say ignition timing as well... or megasquirt it.

It's stock 240t except for lh 2.2 for fuel control and an ipd cam. Nice to see that peak torque comes in nice and early though.

Car drives beautifully. Well, aside from the transmission from a tractor. I believe we put the cam in 4* advanced. This was not actually measured with any gauges. Just put it in that slot on the IPD cam gear. At some point, if more top end were desired, maybe try her at 2* advanced or straight up for more top end?

I think we have the ignition timing at 12* advance. No apparent detonation. Ever. Are we thinking that there may be gains by bumping this up to, say, 14*?

Maybe this summer I'll do the oversized down pipe thing. The turbo could use a refresh as I'm seeing oil in the intercooler hoses. I would like to try out my fancy ATP waste gate housing.

The sun came out and the roads cleared yesterday. Spring is finally coming.

There’s probably some up top gains by bumping timing to 14-15, most likely gains in toying with the cam. Since you’re not running out of fuel, I’d turn up the boost, try it, then move to timing, then play with the cam.

Weird how it went fat on the top end. Need to plumb the wide band.

Carburetors I understand...

At least it didn’t get lean. Get the wbO2 on there and play with the timing. If you can, set up the logging software and at least you’ll have data to support your changes.

Nah I'll gently nudge him to switch to microsquirt before he wastes money on a 3rd party logger.

Chicks dig batch-fire EFI...

To do:

A)

Long-arm oil filter thingy.
Hook up wide-band.
Davis.

B)

Next steps are kind of fuzzy right now. I consistently come back to a T5 conversion or coil-overs. The M47 does limit future power and current fun. The IPD sport spring "stance" is not cool-kid low and this bothers me (being the cool-kid that I am...). Either way, I would just start gathering parts again for a 2020 install. Logic (?) says do trans first I suppose.

C)

Turbo down pipe upgrade. Got a crazy summer scheduled and what I have works.

Wonder if I'm into this for $20k yet. Actually wouldn't surprise me.

Parasitic loss to the wheel. I'm reading that a manual shift car may lose 15%.

So 150 whp x 1.15 = 172 hp at the motor? Sound about right? What was a stock B21FT rated at?

I would go T5 conversion first as its going to be more money upfront. Rip the band-aid off now. If you watch the for sale posts, you can find coil over setups from abandoned projects for much less than if you were to put together a setup of your own.

120kw... that’s about 1/3 of a forklift.

Only takes 35-40 ponies to push a car down the road, I don't know what you guys get so snooty about?
