02 s40 t4 to t5 swap?

I guess it is a bit more than that. But never seen one up close so IDK..
But since they are both coming from the same platform, the mounting bosses might be the same, and You might gonna able to bolt it right in... but I doubt that.
And s40 engine bay is small not sure how it fits.... but some guys in europe put a 5cyl in a 440, which is even smaller..

Go for it and let us know!

Putting a T5 in a NEDCAR is going to be some serious work. Sure, the BTCC S40 teams did it, but then, they were racecar teams with budgets specifically for that.

If your "buddy" wants a T5 S40, just get a '04+ T5 S40, since that's probably about what it would cost to swap anyway.
 
THE S40 has a 4 CYL and ITS TIGHT AS HELL
5 wont fit. Dont you think if it would have fit VOLVO would have done that instead of making a 4 cyl for use in 1 model VS the rest of them with the 5 CYL??

They used the 4-cyl in other cars in other markets, and the Touring Cars managed to make the 5 fit...just sayin...
