Direction change!

Since I am not daily driving this anymore and I found a local SCCA Rally X group I've done some things to my car to get me there.

The rear seats, radio, speakers, and head liner have been removed. The trunk has been stripped of everything. I got my car entered into the end of February Rally X Here are some of the photos I took leading up to the event.

Most everything held together but I'm pretty sure some of the 300K mile bushings in the rear gave way as it felt like I had some rear wheel steering going on during the drive home.

I've ordered all the required bushings to replace them all. I need to double check the IPD torque rods to make sure it was not them that failed as well.

To come:
bushing replacement fun (I made the Tool for the Axle bushings)
Racing seats
Door card modifications

I swear I'll get to that B230Ft sitting on my engine stand some day . . . . . . year.

I noticed my driver side engine mount didn't survive the last event either so I swapped in the Jaguar XJS mounts I had laying around. Definitely more NVH from these. I wonder if they'll soften up after a few abuse sessions on the course.

It was quite the dust bowl event. we kept getting false starts or finishes from the dust being thick enough to trigger the sensors.

My only competition in my class was from a guy in a VW beetle. He was constantly 5-8 seconds faster than me. but he has been at this for a few years and I'd guess about $30K vested into his car. He's also one of the the regional champions for the Modified Rear wheel drive class.
