Pretty sure that Kinugawa is kindof a hybrid CBV in than it partially recircs and partially vents to atmosphere. I researched this pretty exhaustively when I sold off my "HKS" BOV and settled on the Forge CBV gsellstr linked to (FMDVRMR) if I wanted to upgrade and retain 100% stock drivability.

That's the same listing I have saved, lol. I doubt they'll be able to help me, but I messaged that Kinugawa cbv seller to see if they have any insight on whether it recirculates or vents to atmosphere. We'll see what they've got to say.
 
IIRC Forge, Kinugawa, TurboXS and "Mamba" all offer some sort of hybrid CBV/BOV which I don't think would play well with a stock setup.
 
IMO...the series of small holes around the diameter of the base of the Kinugawa valve says that it vents to atmosphere.

The Forge FMDVRMR looks like a beefier version of the stock valve that will recirculate, and the Forge FMDVHGA looks like the Kinugawa (or vice versa) having holes to vent to atmosphere.
 
The Forge I linked to is indeed only a recirc. It will directly replace the stock unit, perform the same functions as the stock unit, only better.
