I googled around a little bit and did not find much information on 8v head install with head studs. Nothing came in the box from Yoshifab either. I found a torque value of 90ft.lbs in one of the threads, is this correct?

1. Clean and inspect holes in block.

2. Thread bolts* into block by hand

3. = 15ftlb

4. = 45ftlb

3. = 90ftlb ARP moly lube (or 120ftlb with 30wt oil)

I didn't do that and never had an issue. MLS gasket and an o-ringed block though.

I did re-torque them after ~some miles, and they needed to be.

I've installed two sets so far.

I installed them and torqued. Next day, I loosened and torqued one at a time.

Ran the motor and drove around for a bit.

Came out the next morning and loosened and torqued one at a time.

Done.

Stock Elring HG both times.

Use the moly grease, not only on the threads. Get it on the washers, too.
Follow the de-torque sequence as well (reverse). I would think one time de-torque and re-torque would work, but it's yours, so rock on.

On another note, I was able to install the studs on my 83 and then put the head on. On my 91, I was unable to do so. I had to set the head in place and then thread the studs in place.
