Trunk will not looking lock

Have not look at a book yet but my 84 242 trunk will not lock after I change glove boxes. Polarity should not matter but I do like the button release. Any tips? Thanks
 
Sounds like you have grounded the lock side of the button release switch so that the lock is permanently held open. The ground should go through the momentary contact release switch.

Or the switch is permanently ON.

Did you reuse your old switch or use the one in the replacement box?

Makes sense to me. I use the old switch. Never a issue before I messed with it. About ready to start hard and heavy On it.
