Yea e85 is nice. I still have some slight ping on mine even with the e85 at the track, my fuel system is completely maxed out on the car. So after the fuel system gets addressed I'm gonna crank it up till it leaves the crank on the ground

I think I may be able to do that with my voltage boosted walbro 450 on e85. I know for a fact I could make enough on 93 to drive over the rods with that pump. It's a monster when voltage boosted.

Yea those voltage boosters do work. However the nhra stuff is really strict here in California at least at the tracks I've been too. So I need to redo the fuel system anyway. So may as well just throw in another pump!

If I need more pump than this I have to redo pretty much the entire system from tank to rails. Ill probly just keep inching forward. I would like to hit 600whp on e85 with a single 450 and deka 80 but Im just gonna push till I see fuel pressure drop off a little and back it off.

Finall got around to working on the 8.8" now that the Volvo axle is starting to make some noise.

Standard stuff here, cut 2 7/8" out of long side, reweld install another short axle.

Just need to put it under the car now and get the brackets finish welded on.

Looks great. Are you using adapters or 5x114.3 rims?

Using the dual bolt pattern jegs/summit brand steel 15x6 wheels. Has the 5x108 and 5x114.3 with the right offset.

Havent been updating much bc the 8.8 swap has been in progress. Hopefully I get the driveshaft back today/tomorrow. I will hopefully have a full 1/4 mile on slicks pass if the track is open this Saturday.

The local 1/8 track hasn't recovered yet from the hurricane so that's out for tonight.

So 8.8 swap got finished. 3.73's were still in the axle. So 8.8 swap got finished. 3.73's were still in the axle. LSD made a big difference in how much power I can put down at the track. Been turning it up slowly. Up to 18psi now with 7875. It's an absolute animal now. Hit my personal best of 6.99 at 107mph in the 1/8th. Best mph of the night was 108 and change.

Also got it regeared to 3.27 this past weekend and it made a WORLD of difference for how the car drives. Should have done gears a long time ago. Im seeing a 250-300rpm drop at 60mph. I could see the track times improving too because of the higher launch rpm Ill be able to hit before I push through the brakes.

Also completely redid the brake system. New rotor front and rear, EBC Yellow Stuff pads front and rear, new master cylinder, and new distribution block thing. The difference is amazing. Before I was only able to hold the tires until about 2100rpm on street tires before I would push through the brakes. Now with new brakes and same tires I hit 3200rpm before I pushed through.

I cant wait to make some more passes with the new gears and redone brake system.

Nice stuff. Just off high 10's in the 1/4. Has it been weighed at all? I'm just curious to where it may be with some stuff removed and other stuff re-added.

Without me in it, full tank of fuel with random tools in the back, no rear seat it weighs 3040lbs. My goal for the car was drive an hour to the track, switch to slicks, run a 10, switch to street tires and drive an hour home.

I want to get it re-weighed with the 8.8 swap done. Im also skeptical of the numbers and want it on another scale.

So the not so fun money spending has begun too. Need front tires, balljoints, tierods, shocks, strut mounts. Now that the swap is done as driving the rest of the car needs attention.

So a local car group was going out to Fayetteville for some 1/4 mile action. Prepped the car by doing plugs(NGK-BR7EF), oil(5w-40 T6 Rotella), rear diff fluid(Redline 75w-140NS) and just giving everything a once over.

After the plug refresh I had to check to make sure the 2 step still worked... it did.

So initially a big goal of this car and this build was to drive about an hour to a track, switch to slicks, run a 10, switch back to street tires and drive an hour back.

I am EXTREMELY happy to say that was achieved. The slicks were toast and I was having severe traction issues in the first 60' on every pass except my first one(which was also the fastest ET of the day). The track was getting worse as the day was going on and my slicks were already corded and just getting much worse. Even with the garbage dead slicks the car still managed a 10.68@134.3mph. This was on around 15psi if boost.

This pass was with boost around 17.5psi and stable fuel pressure the entire pull. -6AN line, single Walbro 450, deka 80's on E85 is doing amazing work with the ECS Fuel Pump Booster powering it.

Overall I've had an amazing weekend and can't believe I hit my goal that easily. I honestly think this car has a 9 sec pass in it with 2 more psi of boost and a 1.5-1.6 60'

Not bad for a china turbo, camshaft, valvespring gen 3 4.8 with 366k miles on it.

Thanks. The slicks are toast and I'm done racing at the track until I get a new pair.

Going to step up to 26x8.5x15. Had worn out 24.5x8x15 on there. I think that having a little bit more tire will allow a better 60'. I also need new shocks up front bc the front lifts really fast then starts to come back down and the rear tires unload and spin.

Really need to start designing some Anti-Squat into the rear suspension. That includes a complete redesign of the system and I'm not really ready to go that route yet with the car.

Going to continue to make small changes and track progress.
