This is my Volvo, It was slow and could barely do a burnout, but I was successful.

Pulled the old motor out to do a 5-speed swap and put on a stock Volvo turbo setup.

But then I had a better idea :D

Went to pnp and took the whole interior and chassis harness from that white 91 240sx and completly rewired the volvo with 240sx stuff.

green engine bay for extra horsepowers.

It's an SR20DET for those who didn't know.

Why A Volvo? My lacking drifting skills will probly do a number on the Body, and the cops will bug your sporty little red cars instead.

Still lots to do, but here it is for now. Updates will be fairly often, gunna aim for early spring to have it driveable

I'm using the stock silvia tranny that came with the engine, no weak volvo bs.

Engine is stock specs for now, more power when funds allow. I'll try and get some good pics of the mounting and dimensions.

My girlfriend broke up with me, I got depressed and bought this car, and well, I'm the happiest I've been for a long time now. Gotta remember to stay single so I have time to get it done.:-D

This is about as close to the christmas spirit as i get. :)

good work dude, looks like a good job but i'm not convinced that the mounts are good, can't tell too much from those photos though.

Just be thankfull you don't live where i do and you need to get a shop to do it and an engineering certificate for it to be leagal:grrr:

I'll be keeping an eye on this one, keep it up!!

Those mounts look fine, though you might reinforce that tab on the inside, seems like it's just hanging there. I love the swap idea!

There's a few other volvo guys in Kelowna, have you met them yet?

Good idea, I was considering tieing it into the crossmember, but I'm not sure yet. I know of a couple guys who once had volvos in the past, none currently owning/tuning volvos though.

Thanks For the good feedback everybody.

Good luck with the project. While I might disagree that an SR20 is a better idea than a redblock or whiteblock, to each his own.
SR20DET is probably a similar price to get hold of in this country as a redblock in the same sort of condition, and so considering that a whiteblock isn't a simple drop-in the SR20DET is probably going to be cheaper than a whiteblock. And then you've got all the aftermarket that doesn't exist for anything with a Volvo badge on it.

The only reason not to do it is to be obtuse, really; that's the main reason I don't have an SR20DET in my 242.
