Welp guys. Race day is this saturday. My overzealous friend whose acura I beat in a race last weekend now wants me to race another friend of his. This guy is supposedly packing a stock 94 Mustang GT (5.0 V8). My question being posted in the performance and modifications board is "What kind of performance enhancing modifications can i do for cheap over the course of the next few days to beat this mustang?". We've got the guy worked up to thinking he'll be racing a stock 740t, so he thinks were high for putting $150 on this race.
In addition to my current mods, we plan to have given the brick a 300lb diet, installed 349cc injectors, cone intake, electric fan, colder plugs, bigger CBV or BOV (who knows), no exhaust and a tweaked APC box running around 16lbs boost. If I can source parts, maybe a squirter system for the IC.
I hope to get some practice in and get timed doing some launches, and some 1/4 mile runs with someone timing me. Also, will be doing some tests to see if its quicker powershifing or not. What are some hints for my driving to clinch the win? I've gotten lauches down pretty good, no wheelspin and only a hint of bog.
