![]() ![]() My buddy Namgyal and his friend Thomas wanted to take some pics of the Volvo today. Once they develop them I'll post them here. Got a cool polaroid out of it. ![]() Had to remove the intake to install a Lowdoller oil pressure sensor and adapter since the factory one **** the bed ![]() Got everything assembled, needed to buy new injector o-rings. Aaaand I didn't torque the oil pressure adapter enough, so its leaking a bunch of oil. Great. Headed back out Monday to remove everything and torque it down. |

![]() ![]() ![]() At least it looks good... I'm exhausted trying to get this thing to idle. I feel like I've tried everything at this point. When you start the car, it starts to idle around 700-800 then runs up to 2500. -Car will die if I cover the TB with a glove/cardboard. Also sprayed all around engine with starting fluid and no noticeable RPM spikes. So vacuum leaks = ruled out? -Swapped in a new IAC today. It idled perfectly for 10min. Went and got gas and killed it, when I started it back up it runs up to ~2500rpm and won't come down -Checked pin-out for the IAC and its good Any v8 have any suggestions? |

![]() It sounds like your idle PID terms may be off.
Hot idle IAC setting should be around 10% from what I know. The Holley Terminator X FB group is a pretty good resource as well. |

![]() You'll get one soon! Once I get this issue figured out, I'll shoot you a text
Term X group hasn't provided much help at this point, I've dug through old posts for hours trying to find someone with a similar situation. I think I'm going to run the startup wizard again and start with a fresh tune |

![]() A fresh start can be good for sure. I ran the HP in my last LS 427 track car and had good results with a higher target idle of ~850, hot idle IAC at ~10%, and PD terms set at the recommended factory setting. The big cam also liked it a little rich around idle.

![]() Started a fresh tune on the Terminator and have mostly solved my idle issues. The IAC still wants to hang, so I made some tweaks to the IAC Hold parameters and am gonna try it out today. ![]() I ended up ordering GAZ Golds for the front earlier this week. Once I install them, I'll be taking it to get aligned at Trackside in Portland. |

![]() I'm a snob, I think I need to stick with a 242... I'm picking up an 86+ front end for my other beige shell this weekend, and grabbed a flathood last weekend. Starting to consider getting it painted and cleaned up, then dropping the LS into it later on

![]() Headed home this weekend to see the family (now that everyone is vaccinated) and did a little work on Derek (Vol242vos) old beige shell. I picked up this 86+ front end from a buddy and found a flathood on a FB group. I'm considering getting this shell painted and putting the V8 into it, but no decisions yet
![]() Also, my grandpa and I worked out a deal for me to buy his 2008 Tundra. I helped him buy this truck brand new and have always loved it. He's getting older and just doesn't really need a big truck anymore. I'm excited to have a reliable tow rig, maybe I can start jumping on those deals that are a little farther away now... ![]() No progress on the V8 car, gonna head out this weekend and get a few small things done. I put in a universal carpet kit and its been bugging me this entire time, so I think I'm going to swap in the factory brown carpet after cleaning it up. |

![]() No, I didn't end up taking many pictures during install. The carpet was a pain in the ass to work with, I wasn't patient enough and the actual carpet seems to be shorter on one side than the other (door sill trim doesn't fully cover the carpet). I should have waited for a factory black carpet to pop up in the junkyard

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A few quick 35mm shots from my buddies. At this point, I'm just waiting to get my front coilovers and I think the car is "finished" for now! |
