![]() Tried to get a single mass flywheel today at the PnP but just ended up with 6 stitches. Broke an extension on a transmission mount bolt and slammed my elbow into a cut downpipe.
Looks like I've have to go back tomorrow and get the parts then |

![]() Dam, hope you are alright! Nice project!
Had to laugh at running over the can of grease. I ran over a full bottle of silver anti seize in my garage once, it popped and made the worst mess...all over the floor, the tires, everything.

![]() It was indeed HarborFake, more of an adapter then a extension, and entirely the wrong size for the bolt I was loosening. I was handed it and said "this is going to break instantly"... and it did
![]() My elbow if fine now, I was due for a tetanus shot anyways so it was a dual use trip I can't get that stuff off my pants after using it, I can't imagine a whole bottle on everything |

![]() I got a severe slash on a cut exhaust on a 240 once. What a bich. I still have the scar on my right hand. So I know that feeling very well. I always wear gloves and long sleeves to prevent these sort of injuries. I've dismantled plenty of fwd car and some of those bolts are bich to break sometimes. The last time I took one apart, it was pouring down and I was sick as dog. #junkyardlyfe

![]() You'd think this would be a good wake-up call to buy better tools but I'm still asleep, swung by harbor freight again after picking up the anti-inflammatory they prescribed.
I have on the other hand learned that using the correct size tool is a smart idea, and will be bringing a jacket tomorrow. Never heard of Kevlar sleeves before but I'll defiantly get some |

![]() Most people don't use or know about them, but they have saved me a ton of injuries. Good to over 800 deg F, and designed to prevent slices from glass or whatever. Really nice to have for working on a hot engine!

I'd bring a jack but PnP doesn't let you for safety reasons. Funny thing is if I had had a jack I wouldn't have needed to remove that specific bolt. Wounder if that would work as an excuse?... |

![]() IDK find one in the 'secret' compartment of a 740?
'Find' one in the thrift shop and take it in the back with you? Pry it up with an exhaust pipe and a pile of tires? Hook it with the engine gantry crane? Throw it over the fence twice? ![]() |

![]() I did, this is how I left it Friday, and how it was when I got back Sunday morning
![]() Finally got the transmission off without losing any more blood, until I broke a T40 torx bit on the pressure plate, no stitches but I'll have another nice scar from this damn car ![]() Dropped a 960 transmission for the bell housing, and snagged the coolant distribution pipe, along with throttle body and a spare MAF for the wagon ![]() ![]() Then took off from the Pnp to drive down and slag this flat hood, looking quite good compared to the overbite. ![]() Just need the T5 gearbox and a few more things to come in the mail for the white block swap. With classes cancelled until April 27th I'm gonna try to get it done quick. |

![]() Spent both Saturday and today at a few picknpulls, ended with a whole bunch of stuff I was looking for and a few things I didn't know I needed
Lowish miles t5 transmission (131K, clean fluid coming out), tach/small clock, some rear trim for the 242, for my wagon the IPD adjustable bits, low miles (71K!) 530 head, b21f intake, snagged a Efan for my buddy because his **** is bunk ![]() First to go in was the tach and clock, should make the 242 a lot more drivable for my gf (just learning to drive stick, needs a tach) ![]() ![]() Then rear shelf trim, old brown stuff has become powderized, black trim seems to last a lot longer so on it went. On the fence about installing 850 rear speakers ![]() ![]() Also finally got around to replacing the torn up seatbelt ![]() ![]() And the tailight that's been missing since washing the car, is it just me or has everyone lost there 5 panel passenger reverse light ![]() ![]() 530 head will be ported, get the 46/38 valves, beehive springs and ported b21f intake before going in the wagon. May end up making the intake look pretty after seeing Vol240vo's intake all shined up ![]() ![]() |

![]() Late model V6 mustang unit, has the WC intermediate shaft bearing so I'm hoping its got a 300ftlb torque rating. Gotta swap the input shaft but I already have the 5.0 one
Got it in the Fairfield Pnp, Rancho and Sac already had them all swooped. |
