i hope those gauges have a dimmer. that look way too bright

Yeah they do, it dims them quite a bit. I'm waiting to put it in when I get the others done here soon.

Kestrel,
Thanks! I was bored to death with the stock cluster, it'll be even better when the rest of them match.

So I pulled the engine out of this thing to fix a couple of problems and give it a general cleaning, it was pretty nasty in there. I'm replacing the pos chevy style power steering pump I was using with a factory '93 240 pump and a non/ac bracket. My old one was literally leaking around a quart every 3-4 hours and caused me to stop driving the car. So out it came.

Like I said I'm really just doing some general houskeeping/repainting. I would like to re-build this engine and put a new ms in it with cop, but thats going to be later. Other projects have sucked up all of my funds for the moment.

I did get a steal of a deal on some ceramic coating from a friend of mine, and I think it looks pretty awesome. It'll be a major improvement over when it came out.

I've got the remainder of my gauges out to roger as well to match them with the r-sport cluster. I'm also putting some surface mount adhesive backed leds in the console switch panel to match the white ones in the cluster. It turned out pretty good, I'll throw some pictures up when I get it all back in.

Discovered upon tear down that my passenger engine mount has seen better days, so I've got an oem diesel mount on order to replace it with. I've got a T5 speedo cable and some billet alternator bushings on the way from yoshifab ftw. I'm curious to see how accurate I can get this r-sport speedo to read by switching the transmission gears. Regardless it'll be nice to have a speedo, I havent had one since I put the trans in. I'm still working on getting the new p/s bracket repaired. I did however accomplish something this weekend. Got the dimmer for the gauges working and wired up in the car as well as putting some surface mount leds in the console to light the switches. Also in line for a RSI stage 3 cam! W00t!

Heres the console inside:

Those strips were only like $5 from superbrightleds.com, 12v ready with 3m adhesive on the back of them. Super easy install. I'll get a finished picture when the other gauges come in.

Heres the dimmed cluster

The dimmer roger included with the cluster is super nice. It dims incandescent bulbs and leds at different rates, which is really the reason I switched to all led errything. Its wired in the stock location into the factory harness for less headaches.

Egauges.com has been a real help in getting sensors for the new cluster and gauges. I got my ambient temp, coolant temp, and 10bar oil pressure gauge sensors from them.

Roger finished the rest of my gauges  And my bracket is being welded, and my diesel mounts came in. Fingers crossed its together and moving this weekend :spin:

Its sort of spotty, but really the brightness and exposure make it look more like that than it really is. I really dont mind it at all.

Well I did some work this weekend to get the accessories bolted up. I got a 100 amp alternator mounted up that I scored at the junkyard this weekend and mounted the new style pump with the non-ac bracket. I had to do some fab work on the brackets to get the tension adjusted right but it wasnt a huge deal. It should work fine.

After that I was able to get the engine in, hopefully I should be able to tie it together this week. I need to re-make my intake pipe so hopefully thats not terrible, but its coming back together

It should, Ive got to modify something though to make it all work.. I cant run my intake pipe currently. 1. Because im running massive 3" pipe, 2. Because the pump sits too high. So I guess I'm going to be making new bracketry again. I would like to drop it an inch or so if possible. Oh well.
