The Dutch 245 Turbo project

Hello

i bought this car like 2 years ago,
drove it for a year, and now.. it needs some minor restoration.
whats started as some nice wheels etc etc and a b230ET
now ended up in a big project
building it for drift and rally events, and keeping it road legal

here are some pictures from when i just bought it.

i will upload more, their all on my phone now..

Stripping the bottom
clear some rust
widen all wheel arches
make some space for the 4-link suspension

Thinking of making a new better cage with proper welding
a lot of work to do!

Haa, nee dat is die zeker niet.
Iedereen die bezig is met Volvos gaat of naar Kees, of naar Betsema scheepsmotoren.
trouwens volgens mij is kaasie niet zo actief meer op het forum hier?
Of zie ik dat verkeerd

Just finished cleaning most of the underbody coating
now it's ready for some ssmall rust repairs and seam welding the beams

Welded a bit today

Welding al the small screw holes and fix some rust somewhere this week

Most of the screw holes welded tonight,
Also did the two small rust spots

grind the welds flat, and turn the car around time to work in the other side

Yes I did, but still not happy about it though
planning on cutting it all out, and let a professional weld in a new one with FIA and KNAF licenses on it
and tig welding would look a lot better I guess

got alot of plans to do, but i also need to realise them,
I don't got that much time since I'm away from home for my work.. (6 am till 7:15pm plus time to eat at home) makes it around 8PM when I'm ready to get on the volvo..
and yeah some days I really like to do nothing and just watch a movie and get some rest

Still a lot of work to do,
Still a lot of welding left to the chassis
I'm collecting money for the 4-link suspension, and coilovers.
need to find some good looking 17"/18" rims to cover the big brake kit I'm planning on..
probably need to life the axle tunnel also since I'm planning to lower the ride height for shows

Aah lets bump this up also,
Not that active on the forum anymore.
Havent done that much the last years.
Thoug, al the body work is done.
I bought some Futura wheels
Widened the rear arches
Welded the whole body
Coated the whole floor
Upgraded the cage a bit
Bought coilovers
Made strutttowers in the back
Bought a pedalbox
Bought a 16T turbo
Bought a heated front windshield
And bought like 6 compomotive Braid rally wheels
