Default transmission goodies (Kaplhenke inside)

sweet! a step in the right direction, thanks for the quick delivery Ben! i was also able to get the bellhousing machined during lunch break since i got the adapter plate in hand.

initial mock-up

comparison, and really, that m46 doesn't deserve to be near the other trans.

full mock-up

Kaplhenke shifter awesomeness

transmission mount... part number 1516754 (that's a joke, i made the trans mount/bracket myself)

I was looking at Mike Moniz's relocator, and it seems to require the front u-joint be backed out pretty far. Hopefully that won't be an issue.

You're confusing the 'T5' Volvo five cylinder turbo engine and the 'T5' five-speed transmission out of a Mustang.

You suck.

As for the transmission, that setup looks great but you would have alot more love for it if you would spend the $$$ and get a real shifter.

i know this, i am still short some parts on this swap... i still will throw another m46 in temporarily.

need to mod the driveshaft, buy a clutch plate, bearings, Ben is modding my stock shift block for the extended housing.

after i do all that i will decide what shifter i want... i knew i shouldn't have sold my pro 5.0 shifter. i had 2, one that went with the car when i sold it and then an extra i sold to a friend for next to nothing. now i can haz none.

does the adapter plate come with a special throw-out bearing?? I "thought" the V-performance needed a few extra parts...true or ???

how much $$ for the bellhousing machine work?

well you are supposed to have the bellhousing machined, which i paid the machine shop next door to do for $50. the t/o bearing is standard but the shift fork is supposed to be modified to hold the ford bearing. i can do that myself.

also, this is not V-Performance stuff, i paid for it thursday and got it tuesday, you know damn well it didn't come from V-Performance just because of that.

nah, it was the slicks, but who cares, whatever trans goes in next week, either another m46 or this t5 if i can gather the rest of the parts, i will be out doing more massive burnouts, drag runs , etc... i know what i am up against if it breaks.

in fact next trans that goes in, m46, or maybe the t5, i will go out and get a video of a massive burnout, throw the abuse right back at it.

the stock t5 shifter can allow too much movement on hard shifts and break the forks.

yep. and you can get nice used shifters on ebay all day long. I rather enjoyed my hurst shifter base with a stock mustang stick. adjustable stops, really positive feel. DO NOT BUY THE CHINESSE KNOCKOFFS
