Should have used a decibel metering app for comparison

To my eye, the dash lights are dim. My meter shows 10v after the dimmer (engine off). Any reason not to bypass it?

Picked up my brother and his family from the airport. Four people plus luggage, the DL works. Got the dash lights working. Planning to install the amp after the holiday.

It's go time.

Obsolete tech.

Wiring.

New hotness. Amazing the tech you can get on these new units for not much money.

Never been a huge stereo guy, but this seemed like a good winter break project. I picked up the amp before the holidays. Never had one. I thought it would fit under the passenger front seat, but it was too big. So it will go in the way-back under the cargo floor. The battery is in the passenger butt cheek anyway.

So, RCA and "remote" wires from the radio to the amp in the back. Speaker wires from the amp back up to the speakers in the front. LOL.

The local Car Toys guy has been helpful. Mostly learning a lot from my old neighbor who is a stereo geek.

The new head unit looks amazing. It even comes with a mic for the cel phone. All for $125. Dang.

Having amp changes your driving experience a lot. Mainly drowning out the creaks & rattles of driving a 240.

The speakers in the suitcase has been so popular that I’ve decided to take things to the next level with a sub-woofer in a hat box.

Drove the Speed-Wagon for the first time with the new tunes. Most excellent. Hard to explain the improvement except that, even at low volume levels, it's easier to hear more. The wife was impressed.

I had a hard time finding these small connectors for the negative speaker terminals. They are currently hanging on by friction and optimism.

Hard to believe next month will be three years. It's been a fun journey.

Do-pee-do-pee-do.

Installed the used 22MM rear bar in place of the 19MM. 23MM up front. I like it so far. Seems to "turn in" more readily.

Ordered a set of Hella 500 amber driving lights. Same as the 500 clear fogs I've been running, but with a different lens. I have the nice, clear, RWC TV screens and IPD bulbs.

On occasion, my aging eyes really have a hard time. Last Thanksgiving I was on an unfamiliar curvy road in the rain and was really struggling. The police had flairs on the inside of the more challenging corners. Yikes. Not wanting to blind the on-coming cars, I stayed with the low beam / fog light combo. Anyway, these driving lights should put more light forward without blinding the oncoming traffic. The fogs are great for the shoulders of the road, but I'm excited to try something new.

Still chasing "Stage 1." May help keep my door speakers drier.

Thought I'd convert to the smaller coolant bottle and non-leaky style hoses, but the hoses aren't quite right. Sigh.

On the plus side I picked up the silicone hose for the new MBC. Bump her from 8 to 10 psi and call it a day.

The hardware store diverter valve plumbing is leaking oil all over. Going to spend some more cash with the Do88 guys and try to seal that up.

Haven't driven her in a month. Tires are going to be flat-spotted.

Oh, and we swapped from clear fogs to amber driving lamps. Really like this change.

Love the fog lights Carl! Tires will be fine but get it back on the road!

Are you the one with the B21FT for sale?

I wish I had a job where I could drive my own car. I’ve been in company cars for 20 years. As an enthusiast it’s a negative.
