Not much done today

grommet where the choke and speeo cables go thourgh - weird how it's all melted

replaced it when installing new choke cables

installed choke cables, new fuel hoses, throttle linkage, tightened down the carbs. Took the alternator off to get better access to down pipe bolts. Tomorrow I have to weld the exhaust and tune this thing
I need to fix the cooling hoses too

With some help from Eric and Ian to adjust idle I got it running today. I will weld the exhaust tomorrow and finish adjusting it

You might want to look into doing something about that single circuit brake setup, too!

Not sure if you figured this out, but you first spin the knob itself off, then that spin nut you're fighting with has to come off. I've had more than one 122 where that thing was seized on there. I had to break mine apart to replace it.

Make sense. I will try that. For now it works if you tug and twist a few times, but I dont feel like doing that everytime

On a limb decided to drive to L.A. for the weekend.. Few things to take care of

Stopped by Lukes house because I could not for some damn reason tune this after replacing the dizzy. Turns out I set it the timing to fire 10 AFTER TDC -
THANKS FLUKE

here is the unwrapped connection between header and downpipe glowing.
After I took this picture some old farmer pulls up and asks what year is my amazon ... WUT
and if I want a wagon ... hell yes. Got his number and I;ll be getting in touch next week

This is all that you see when you drive for 500 miles on I5, along with Carls Jr and stupid HID lights I need to hurry up and install M41 for the MPG ... holy hell

and this is what you see when you get here. I don't miss this place

on the way back from LA my "known good alternator" took a crap. As I was going down grapevine. Drove for another 180 or so miles with headlights on... middle of nowhere I was going to buy two batteries and make it home but got AAA to tow me instead, son had school in morning and everything was closed.

thought maybe my fuse was acting up so I stopped for twerking

womp womp

waiting for tow truck exit 347 on I5

ordered an alternator kit

picked up Billies and 29 front and something size bars from Jeffery finally. Thank you

installed the shocks
(no pictures)

picked up a few tune up goodies from Eric and Ian. Finally meet them - like long lost family members
firewall grommet specific to temp gauge

connecting rod end links

old - also found that relay rod is super hard to turn so Im going to try one from 65 with zirk fitting. It has some play but no geese at moment

dizzy that failed me - no insulation kit. I tried installing points

got this from Eric - in order how it goes

after - need to set gap

decided to do the passenger floor while waiting for parts

I havent decided if I want to cut the hole as big as the replacement panel. There's no rust past here so why bother ???

before grinding spot welds

after spot welds / done for today

Nice work on the floor. Will you coat or spray anything inside those frame extensions ? Getting ready to do just that on my P1800.

I haven’t thought of that.... there’s no rust inside of them, probably just spray black fleet paint
I’ll make sure to draw a penis on the inside too

Any ideas ?

It is my understanding that Jack needed to take some time away to deal with stuff.
A self-imposed ban if you will.

Ah well that's too bad. Maybe someone here who was local to him knows how things got on with this project.
