Changing Mileage on Electronic 240 Speedo

I took apart a scrap K9800 odometer and there definitely wasn't enough slop to move the mile wheels with a probe.

Here's another great picture from one of cleanflametrap's speedo write-ups http://cleanflametrap.com/speedo5/

The main mile wheels free spin on their shaft. The row of black/red/blue cogs on the shaft above are what limits and rolls over the mile wheels. The red cog is press fit to the shaft to turn the CAT replacement needed indicator, the others free spin. The cogs fit in between mile wheels. Each cog spins by a tooth every time the mile wheel to the right rolls over.

The only way I thought the mileage could be changed, would be to press out the cog shaft to release the cogs. It might need a special tool to prevent damaging the cogs.

Hmmm....a long time ago I believe I had success with a 740 cluster sliding the digits to the left.
