Newbie Factory Wheel Guide...OMG its huge SORRY! nf56k!!!!!!

any one in the socal area have a set of these?

are those Canopus ?

are those a RWD wheel? they look more like a FWD wheel to me. the offsets are different, and if you put a FWD (850 etc) wheel on a RWD car, you need to use spacers. and if those are too wide, I can imaging fender or strut clearance problems. stock in a 245 was 195/75-14, +1 is 205/65-15, +2 is 215/55-16... I dunno what a +3 would be, something like 225/45R17 .... pinch flat city if you hit a pothole.

But then, I think the slammed-to-the-ground and tires-so-low-profile-they-look-like-electrical-tape look is just silly on a road car

Gemini Question

I have seen two part numbers for the Gemini wheels: 1394622 and 1394623. Were these different finishes? Did the Geminis ever come in a chrome finish? Does anyone know what the different part numbers are for?

fwiw, Tascaparts says... Part number 1394622 was superseded by part number 1394623, and
Item Number MSRP Core Price Price
1394623 $328.98 $0.00 $238.35
Wheels - Wheels - Wheel - Aluminum
Type 5, 16x7 1994 - 1995
This item is Discontinued.

Does anyone know what smaller center cap fits the Deseones? I have been running them without the big chrome ones but I think it looks a bit unfinished.

I thought +1 referred to 1" oversize rim? so 14 to 15 wuld be +1 ?

our 87 240 came with P185/75-14, I realize the earlier 70s' versions may have been a narrower profile, but even the 1975 had a 14x5" rim standard. and 14x5.5 for the 242GT

you're right. if a car came stock with /15 wheels, a +3 wheel would be 18s.

FWIW, "+1" can also apply to the tire size increase in a specific rim diameter
