Since both slide in behind a red block, what are the pro/cons of the two?
Second...
Is the ZF integral bell housing? I.e. can a ZF22 from some other vehicle bolt in for range selection?

While my 262 is running a zf I don't remember if the housing is separate. But there is one in my parts department that will answer. I will check in the am.

ZF 4HP22 was also used in BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover, Maserati, and Peugeot. ZF 4HP24 has electronic controls. ZF 4HP22 EH also has electronic controls. From what I read the bell housing, torque converter, and tail housing are swappable from rear wheel drive cars, but using a four wheel drive trans would require that the tail shaft would need to be swapped.

Migs AW box is common, easy to enhance as Japs used them behind big power engines.

Most of what I got to do with ZF boxes in Volvos is extract when dead and replace with AW that didn't blow up.
