discovered a WOT issue, one of the hoses is collapsing just about the time this thing should be getting fun (around 4500). not sure which one yet, could be either of the intercooler couplers or the jackleg throttlebody coupler. will spend some time ****ing around with that issue after I get back in town.

Got the ostrich on the car, started dorking around with the tune. regained some of the lowend torque, and it cruises effortlessly around 60, practically zero throttle input. A/c is also working fabulously. valve cover still leaks, damnit, but at the moment everything else appears to be functioning correctly.

impressively boring maybe. course, we don't have a dyno right now, so it'll be a while. I should walk outside and get a couple of pics.

here's some pictures of this collection of horse****.

960 brake booster

dolphin wouldn't fit down in that hole for the breather, so I was forced to use a plastic bottle for the time being.

corrected belt alignment

and the disappointment of NA

this would work a whole lot better if the amm was on the driver's side and I wasn't drawing through the intercooler. I may work on that, but it'd be a temporary thing since it will be turbocharged before long.

So how much HP did you gain with the IC?

That E-fan freed up a lot of space there between the block and radiator. Looking good!

What do expect the performance gains to be between this 16v set-up you're going to be running and the exact same set-up with an original 8v head?

the e-fan is oe on the 940, but it does make for more space. the intercooler mounting underneath the crossmember in the front also frees up space vs the older style.

the car should easily make 300hp without leaning on it hard, I'm just going to have to put a zipper on the bellhousing to keep fresh aw71's in there ;)

If you do indeed start blowing through them that quickly, are you going to swap to manual, or maybe find a different autobox to use?

I'll have to cross that bridge when it starts to happen, I'm not really sure. the first thing I'll probably do is go in and add more clutches like I did for the transmission in the deathwagon 3. I also don't plan to turn it up much higher than the 8v, so hopefully that won't put quite as much strain on it as I did with the older car.

IIRC it has no fins inside so it's kinda lacking. If you ever want an upgrade Evo 8 IC works well and they're cheap. (harald put one in his car).

yeah. i've got a plethora of options at IC should I decide to ditch the 940 unit. when I get ms on the car, it'll answer questions about how well the thing works.

I'm thinking pvc running across the front of the engine bay to bypass the intercooler. this sucking shut at 4500 **** has got to go.

also need to adjust the kickdown, it's 'lazy' right now (probably a difference in spools there, the aw72 has a different 'cam' on the valve body), wouldn't be so bad if it'd turn up but it won't. also need to get the last 2k tuned out. fuel map is a little jacked up still, but hey. going to start fabbing up the stuff for the ms install when I get back in town.
